I took delivery of mine with 4 miles too.
I wished I would have checked other things a lot earlier. Everything has been low.
My checklist would also include; front and rear differential fluid check, transfer case fluid check, and a physical ATF check per TIS. I just finished checking this weekend at 2,800 miles.:(
    At 500 miles retorque leafspring U-bolts to 52 ft-lbs.

    So far it's
    7/8-qt rear
    1/2-qt front

Tried to check the t-case but I think it was too warm; it was weeping out. That or it has plenty.
What weeped out was pretty nasty.
I'm going to drain/refill the diffs and t-case soon anyway.

Is it possible to overgrease these? Thinking about going back and pumping some more into mine because I am not sure I purged all of the old stuff.

I thought Tacomas come stock with Spicer U-joints? You replaced them on a brand new truck?

No it's not possible to over grease and cause damage. You can over grease them and when they spin grease will come flying out onto exhaust and stuff if you pump a bunch out out the seals. Just take a rag and wipe off the extra stuff that comes out if your worried about it.

This issue is generally raised when we are talking about pneumatic grease guns that can blow out the seal. No risk I can think of with a hand pump unit.

On a side note, I told my salesman that I didn't receive my valet key and he said that you only get a valet key with the "push to start" models . Any truth to that ?

Do you need to know, or care?
I wouldn't call it a "valet key", you still need the fob to start the truck. Push Button's come with fob, standard key for tailgate and glove box, and a key in the fob that's used for the driver's door.

Checked U-Joints. 7-8 Pumps in 4 of the 5. I couldn't get to the fitting on the front most fitting due to clearance around the joint and my grease gun nozzle.

yea i had the same problem. I had to buy a needle adapter to get that front joint greased
    http://www.amazon.com/Lincoln-Lubri...=1458302622&sr=8-3&keywords=needle+grease+gun
was a little harder then I thought you really have to keep some force against it to get the grease in. Cant use a creeper or you just roll away LOL

Thanks for the info on the needle. I spent 5 mins fighting the thing before I gave up on trying to shove it in there. I spend a bit of time in the 'burgh so if I ever see a doppleganger of my truck, I'll give a wave to you :)

I checked my back 3 today, each took 4-5 pumps to start to purge.

I just took delivery yesterday. Drove straight home and greased all. Every one was pretty dry. Didn't have to remove heat shield or use any adapter. 5 min. I was done.

My 2WD Limited does not have any Zerk fittings on the CV joints . Any others that have owners have that also ?

Finally got around to greasing that tricky rear (front driveshaft) zerk - success!
Couldn't get the bugger from the passenger side, the coupler just wouldn't go on (yoke in the way).

    I then took this advice:

I have the cheapo "Lumax" gun with the four prong coupling too, no probs - and no needle required.

Had my 5000 mile service today and told the Dealer that I wanted the driveline u-joints serviced as I had been in water, snow, sand, mud, and salt water and didn't want to wait till the 15,000 mile service...he did not hesitate with any of the provisions of the maintenance service requirements in the book...said fine we will do it if you feel it is necessary. I watched thru the service window and they read the manual and hit all 5 joints...now it is in my service history...
