You might be able to tow a small trailer with a goat or two on it.

I was able to tow with my old 1st Gen 4cyl one of the larger Uhaul trailers. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't pretty and it was fairly slow going, the truck hated me the whole way but she did it. They can haul a surprisingly large amount of stuff.

I pulled a small 4' x 8' garden trailer with 2000 lbs on it for the first time last week. Truck definitely noticed it was back there. No major issues other than it was just sloooowwwww and it hated even the smallest hill.

probably way too much. but it gets her up the ramp fine. I never took it very far. ive put airbags on the truck since then. it helped a ton. the truck didn't have much of a problem starting or stopping with it. just take it easy and theres no worries.

Only thing I've "towed" so far is pulling out a 1950 Chevrolet from a field with 4 flat tires, but I do haul regularly.

Not quite 1200 lbs in the bed.

Usually if i'm towing its my 4x8 trailer with one quad on the trailer and one quad in the bed. I can certainly tell its there but it doesn't seem to struggle at all.

I pulled a 22 foot sailboat from Connecticut to Oklahoma with mine. 2200 pounds. Yeah, it hated the hills. Pulled my new to me 20 foot Sea Nymph GLS with 100hp outboard from Little Rock to Oklahoma City. No problems. I launch and retrieve the boat with the truck all of the time. Just use Low Range till I top the ramp as it's quite steep. 2.7 liter is tough. Almost 300,000 miles now.

you will be surprised what these little 4 cyl will tow. i used to pull a mower with mine all the time! my friend has pulled a zero turn and his 4 wheeler on a 14 ft trailer up a mtn before. he was in 2nd gear to the floor but it did it

Just picked this up and pulled it 85 miles. A little more than 1800lbs. Pulled like a dream. My truck is a 5 speed manual and handled it amazingly well. Truck had no problems going up long grades and a couple times brought it up to 70 with no issues passing semis that were slowing down climbing the inclines. One time I had to drop it into third for a short time but that was it. I was a little nervous from some previous bad experiences but this really set my mind at ease. I know many people pull much larger than this but I think the trailers weight is a great match for the truck. Wasn't too much to handle at all. Of course when I pack up the truck with extra gear, it will be heavier but the extra weight will end up in the bed of the truck so the truck will gain more of a weight advantage. Can't wait to use it now.image.jpg

There was a 20 page thread about this a few months ago, but I pull a Hobie 16 sailboat (~1200lbs boat, trailer, and a weekend's worth of gear and tailgating supplies) and my dad's 16' fishing boat (Maybe 2200lbs boat/trailer) and my 4cyl 5MT tows them both very well.

The fishing boat is definitely noticeable, but still very drivable and the sailboat doesn't phase the truck at all.
