Actually this wasnt my first mod , did a bunch of stuff to my Wrangler( lights bumper winch etc.) and several small ones on my Tacoma , every once in a while I Get stuck and have to pull back and try the next day and it usually works. Never had anyone give me support like several guys did on this forum though. Thanks again.

So I did. This mod tonight.. I did everything humanly possible.. It ended up breaking a clip off each center cap for them to go on without the retaining clips.. I tried with the retaining clips oem and new and neither would fit.. Once one plastic clip was broke. They fit like a glove and very snug.. Not sure why mine were so difficult

so the original part number given was PT904-35070-CC

but if I'm reading that right, that's for a 16" rim

.... but you are saying this 16" center cap works on the Sport 17" rim ?????

Yes. Center hub is same. Fits into the sport rim with no trimming.

So I finally decide to do mine. I followed floridaoccifer instructions and now the fit perfectly. I just finished painting the wheels and I like the finish I got. I will like to leave them like that but I feel that if I don't cover them with clear coat they will star pealing in few months. Especially when we star getting all the salty road here in OH. I sanded, prime and painted (2thing layer and 3 thick ones). What dio u guys think.SHOULD I CLEAR COAT THEM OR NOT ? image.jpg

I'm sporting the silver caps now, on TRD OR stock wheels. As much as it pains me to say it, I'm starting to like black wheels. Thinking seriously about black or charcoal with black centers. The pics gave me a better idea of what they look like. Nice by the way!

Nice job, OP! Your wheels look great. Unfortunately, clear coat is probably the only thing that will protect the paint from the elements.

Gotta agree. Your only other option is having them powdercoated which runs about $70-80/wheel.

Thanks, @floridaoccifer! Great mod, spot-on instructions.

Ordered my caps a few days ago. They arrived today. Spent about an hour making cuts and installing them after work. (Truck is in garage and dirty at the moment, so no pics.)

Just spruced up my 2010 4runner rims on my taco. Ordered these TRD center caps. No cutting needed. But I put some 3m double sided trim tape on the clips to make them nice and snug to ensure they stay put. They were pretty loose before. I need to black out the tiny but of gap between the cap and the spokes.IMG_20160602_204004.jpg IMG_20160602_203948.jpg
