At what point does meth injection become mandatory? Seems like some people throw it on at 8 psi while others run up to 15 psi without.

    This is true.
Its never necessary but can help with a few things.

So you enrich the F/A mixture to keep combustion temps down. The extra fuel literally only acts as a heatsync and isn't burned. Obviously you loose MPG's, but also that unburned fuel can affect your smog tests (if you live in a communist state) and can burn up your cat converter.

Meth kits basically can do a few things for you.
First, if you want, you can keep F/A at 14.7 AFR and not have to put unburned fuel into your exhaust. This can also allow you to keep your stock fuel system if you desire. Second, water is a much better heat soak than fuel so sometimes when boosting way high, the fuel is only cooling it so much so the meth kit can give you that extra cooling effect and allow for more advanced timing.

So is the general consensus that LCE is the highest quality product? I'm looking at CX's 5vz kit right now and it looks like it's $1,000 cheaper than LCE's 3rz kit and comes with an intercooler. I'm sure there's no comparison of the quality but damn, for the same kit from LCE and an intercooler you'd be looking at like $2,000 more? Am I missing something?

@StAndrew Did you go with the full kit from CX or did you just piece yours together from miscellaneous vendors?

I went with the full kit but I don't recommend it. Just get the headers and build it from there. Go slowly to make sure you are buying only once. It'll be cheaper in a long run as the CX parts are cheap and prone to breaking.

The CX IC might be worth it if you don't offroad your truck. It stick way low which was a deal breaker for me so I had to come up with a new design.
