I'm sure 25 is open now and I still have plenty of snow for you to shovel. Besides, all you need to do is take 24 to Manitou...

I can't take 24. The rocks on that road hate Subarus and take them out with extreme prejudice.

My day began just before 7:00am with a call from my wife who was less than a half mile from home and had high centered our sedan and needed pulled out. I got a bunch of crap together and headed out to save her. I was amazed with how hard it was to even find the road that I've seen thousands of times (we've lived here over a decade now) because of the white-out conditions. When I got there there was a large tow truck, her and then four other cars stuck on the side of the road. She had thought (much like them I'm guessing) that they two truck was stuck and tried to pass on the side they thought was still the road (that curved) and it wasn't a road at all. I also found out the hard way that a 150amp breaker on a winch is a bad idea. I did some testing with it after install and everything seemed fine. This day, I couldn't even unspool the line w/o the breaker popping enough times that it stayed open and couldn't be closed again. Good thing I grabbed a tow rope too so I hooked up to a recovery point on the Optima and on the front of my truck and yanked her out. It took me a total of 2hrs to get her out and get her back home and in the garage. The worst part of it may have been getting it up in the garage but it was all equally sucky. Of course I'm still getting over a cold and all I wanted to do that morning was sleep in to try to get over it. Ah well, just glad we were able to recover the car and get it safely in the garage when so many people weren't so lucky. What a mess.
