On most cars I have had (rentals) that had an auto transmission, there was either a light in the gear selector, or something in the dash that said what gear you are in.

I've got nothing on my 03 taco.

Is there some bulb burnt out underneath?
I noticed, at the frontmost where the gear pattern list is, there is this little raised bump thingy.
Is that supposed to have a bulb that illuminates the pattern?

This is (obviously) only an issue at night, but it is annoying...

    Reserected from the dead.
That bump thing is the cap to transmission park override. Tow truck drivers use this when you are not there with keys to put it in neutral.

Mine isn't working either, but it does have a good-looking bulb (not blackened).

When is the light supposed to come on? Just when the running lights are on ?
