What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

A rivet is the best solution for this application. These two parts will move and support weight, you don't want any slop like you'd have with a nut and bolt. Besides, you don't have access to use a nut and bolt, rivets or self tapping screws.

I'm no expert on rivets but I think a 3/16 rivet with a grip range between 3/16 - 1/4 would work for the hood brackets. I cant speak to the mounts on the fender, because I used self tapping screws there.

Masking off the radiator/header panel and fiddling around with the emblem location and hardware and epoxy and masking and sanding have been the most time consuming parts.

 

How was the horn relocate? May have to recruit you some day in the future!!!

This looks great. Any concerns about the paint affecting the function of the radiator?

 

The folks that made the Tonneau cover say the cargo divider won't work with the cover.
WELL, $12.80 at the machine shop, and some banging with a hammer proved them WRONG!!

 

@Berniebikes, yup, figured that after doing some reading on his thread. The thing that "worries" me the most is popping off the headliner, A-pillar, door still, and then running the sensor wire and installing it in front of the grill.

Not very good with that type of stuff to be honest, so we'll see how it goes down once I receive it. Might ask my cousins to help out and bribe them with pizza or something, since they are much handier with that type of stuff than I am!

 

Where did you buy the LED amber fogs and DTRL's? Are the blinkers LED then as well?

 

it really is a pretty easy install. hardest part is running a wire through the grommet in the fire wall. everything else is just straight forward

No. It has been debated to death on this and many other forums for many different types of vehicles.

Also, it is the AC condenser, not the radiator. The paint is a very light dusting that barely goes deeper than a couple MM into the fins. Plus at least half of the condenser and the radiator extend down below the area visible and sprayed.

 

Really looks sharp! When I switched my grill and headlights back in June I hadn't joined
TW yet and wasn't aware of cool mods like the horn relocate, and painting the AC condenser. I need to pull the Grill and do this. Your trucks looking Great

 

Pulled off my mangled fender, cut up the new one, and started painting it in preparation for new bumper install next weekend.

 

Really like that. Makes me want one for my kayaks. How does it affect how the cap seals and sits on the bed?

 

My friend Craig knows a guy who demo'd his newer Tacoma in a head on collision, and made the OEM oval step rails available. Helps my wife get in and out.

 

Leaf spring recall. They really stiffened things up. Love how it rides and seems to fixed a bit of the axle rap
