Where to off road close to New River Gorge WV?

    I'm taking my son to New River Gorge WV at the end of May and would like to get some wheeling in when I'm there. Does anyone know of some trails within about an hour of the gorge? I'm aware of King Knob, however my perception is that it might not be a wise choice for a relatively stock truck with no one there to help me out of a jam. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
