I have asked Toyota Corporate for an extension on warranty for low front diff fluid. I have a case number. I really don't think my front diff is damaged but I have stated it is mindless and unacceptable to manufacture a 4WD truck and have to wonder IF it is damaging itself. I have owned my truck for 2 weeks and not driving it much (315 miles, 3 off road) because had not checked fluids yet. Also took a week to get back to dealer for Auto Trans fluid check. Did transfer case and diffs myself yesterday. Now I am ready to enjoy truck but was 1/2 qt low on front diff. Just wondering if Toyota acknowledging trust erosion by offering extra coverage. For guys with tranny symptoms I would be angry. I really think the dealer is not responsible unless the PDI requests fluids to be checked. I am hearing "NO" on here. So it is a Corporate issue.

I was offered and accepted an extended warranty due to my front diff being low on fluid. Just passing this info along in case others are interested.

After multiple calls and speaking with 3 different supervisors I finally got one to give me an extended warranty because of the low trans fluid. I told them I bought the truck based on their reputation for longevity and now after driving it low on fluid I don't feel confident there won't be problems later on. This along with the multiple problems I've had with my dealership they gave me a 7/100,000 platinum with 0 deductible. Sometimes it pays to be a PITA! :D;)

I called Toyota customer service. I told them the same thing Desert Dawg did. The low fluid issues are a Corporate Issue and not a dealer thing unless the PDI procedure requires the dealer to actually check all fluids. I did not receive a document at delivery showing they claimed to have checked all fluids. My main message was that my trust in Toyota had been compromised based on prior reputation and evidence of quality issues out now related to fluid levels which goes to the very heart of reliability, longevity and durability. I told them my last Tacoma was a 1999 and had no problems. I did not have to ask twice but did have to lodge complaint initially and get called back within a few days. It is in writing, tied to VIN # and even transferable once.
