Got tired of waiting also. Ordered the BakFlip HD last week. Looking forward to the install next week.

Just bought an Access Cover for my DCSB from a member on here. Installed it in a hour or so, and love it. Tight as a drum, seals well, been through several rainstorms with just a tiny amount of water seepage.

Installed a tuxedo truxport on mine today. Install only took about 20 minutes. I love it, especially for the price! Got it for $230. Love that the side rails fit on top of the bed sides instead of on the inside edge. Keeps everything out a lot better and can use the rail hooks freely.

After 8 weeks of waiting my DCLB just arrived with a factory cover installed (that I didn't order). They're including it for free.

Trying to decide if I want to keep it or fight to have it taken off and bed rails replaced.

Get the paceesward switch blade it rolls up when squeaze the two latces toegether and pulls out with a rope, when open it stays in the caniseter. You will have to drill bigger drian holes in the bed for it to work, but can be done. It stays dry and secure with metal underneath the leather. Also it is under 1,000$ which is nice.

Hey, could you please talk about install and how the bed rail system functions with this cover?

I don't want to lose the functionality of the OEM bed rails. Originally purchased an Extang, but it bubbled up in one day. See pic above. I'm thinking of returning the Extang and getting the Pace Edwards.

I had a bakflip g2 on my F150 and thought it looked and worked great minus not being able to see out the back with it open. I didn't want to go this route because the bakflip mounts to the bed rails in the Tacoma.

    Thanks!

I wasn't sold on it 100% after I put it on. Needless to say, I'm less than thrilled now.

The Backflip only mounts to the bedrails on the 2nd gen Tacoma. The 3rd gen relocates the bedrails a bit. Allowing you to still use the bedrails. The setup is the same as they use on the Tundra.

Well, if that's the case, I'm probably going this route. I'll have to search for pictures of the bakflip mounted on a 3rd gen.

    image.jpg image.jpg I purchased the rugged cover

There were a couple of deciding factors for me. Access to the bed rails was important. I want wanted a cover that was extremely simple to take off. Twice now I have helped move some furniture with little notice. being able to take the cover off with no tools is great. I like the build light feature.

I did have a few minor issues with the initial install, but customer service was amazing. Emails were very prompt. Not only did they send me the part I needed, but a full kit of replacement parts for the future. All of the communication happened before 8am EST on a Monday morning.

The cover has been great so far. Minimal water gets through. I would highly recommend it.

I also have this cover. One thing of note, that I was not pleased with. My father decided to help me close the cover after I showed him my truck. Somehow he managed to bend the metal bar that holds the latch to secure the cover. When I say bend, I mean he actually made almost a U out of it. Don't know how he did it, but sure enough did. We got it straightened out, and honestly its a pretty easy piece to replace, but still. Nothing against the actual cover, but seems these pieces could be prone to replacement over time.
