Already took out the door/seatbelt buzzer but now when I'm out wheeling the buckle up light constantly flashes... Which is no biggie but when I'm out on the trails it throws me off because I'm always mistaking it for the check engine, tps, 4wd light. Anyone ever disable that flashing icon beside using that code scanner tool or buckling the belt behind yourself? Thanks

Junkyard- $2 to get the buckle from any Toyota product and it clicks right in.
I put Velcro on mine so when I'm not using it I can stick it next to the seat and always in the same place :D

I had a Tundra I did this to and it is the same on the Tacoma. On the portion of the buckle thats attached to the seat there is a sensor. This post describes pulling the spring out of the sensor. The spring keeps the switch open when unbuckled when removed gravity keeps it down and the truck things you're buckled. Obviously you're on your own if you want to attempt.

Its really not. Can be if you take the seat out. I did it with a small jewelers screw driver in about 3 minutes. I had pictures when I did it and it appears they are no longer on the original post.

Maybe use your seatbelt instead of trying to defeat a safety feature?

If you look, he specifically said "when I'm out wheeling" and "out on the trails". Don't think there is a seatbelt law in those locations.

But thanks Dad for the lecture.

You'r welcome, and if your dumb ass could read a schematic you would realize it's as simple as cutting one wire, but I don't give advice to ignorant assholes

Actually that's when you should be wearing your seatbelt most importantly. Unless you have a 5 point harness and a cage which I doubt you have.

Then if you have nothing informative to add then move on. I advised him to put on his seat belt, what have you added to this thread besides nothing?

You've advised him to not wear his seatbelt and waste his money on defeating a safety feature. For that cost you could just plug the seat belt in and sit in front of it, no need to waste $10 for carbon fibre dildos

You're pretty spun up about this huh? I'll reiterate, he's out off roading his vehicle. There is no seatbelt law, and the seatbelt can be restrictive when trying to see over your hood, door, fenders, ect. I gave him a simple option to disable the blinking light on his dash. You then came in this thread, lecturing an adult man about how not wearing a seatbelt is unsafe. I made fun of you and you lost it, now here we are. I'm going to bed. Thanks TacomaWorld, stay classy PSU Taco85. Goodnight :)

alright then, just because he's offroad and it's not a law doesn't mean it makes it safe. Have fun and godspeed. I don't see how you can't see over your hood/fender offroad with a seatbelt on?
