Just got my renewal in the mail. :( It's half what it has been the past few years. :) Guess I wasn't at the minimum. Renewal doesn't show me the breakdown, just the total, but the license portion if I am at the minimum should just be $3. The other $87 is road and bridge fees. Due for emissions again this year (every other year? really? as if having it at all wasn't a crock), so there's another $25 or whatever it is now.

Wait a minute, I hope trolling to keep people out of the state. We are moving in Feb and buying a new car before the move and have not seen this anywhere on the douglas co site.
    http://www.douglas.co.us/motorvehicle/motor-vehicle/fees-taxes-and-payments/

It's the typical 85% of MSRP then the declining tax rate year over year (2.1, 1.5, etc)

I now live in Pa !!

We pay a 6 % sales tax when we first register the vehicle .

Then a flat rate per weight class.

I sure don`t miss the registration like in Wyoming .

Now it has been quite a few years so things can change and if I recall there was no sales tax

For anyone else in the same boat or about to be, I got a response back from the Douglas county DMV

Thank you for taking the opportunity to use DCMV.

If you are purchasing the car from a dealership in FL and the FL dealer is collecting sales tax you will only owe the difference if there is a difference. Example if you pay sales tax in FL of $100.00 and your sales tax in CO (based on your CO address) is $150.00 then you will only pay the $50.00 difference.

I live in Castle Rock and tags for my 2016 TRD OR DCSB were $708.77 with new plates. I had to retire my old ones from the Jeep . That's the most I've ever paid for tags then again this is the first new truck I've owned.

I just bit the bullet and got mine done. Arapahoe County, I registered it as Rec Truck - $753, if I remember correctly.. Ouch this state is silly. It was like $1600 after taxes that came from the sale.

I think I paid somewhere around $650 when the truck was new? It goes down every year after here in NH.
