Why 887s vice 886 -- just asking out of plain ignorance on my part.

What exactly are Dakars? I understand they seem to be leaf springs, but what is the difference between part numbers etc.

Stock kit uses 885 coils (590 lbs spring rate 395 mm in length). Some people are swapping 885 for 887 for added height with same spring rate (590 spring rate 400 mm in length).

Heavy kit uses 886 coils (660 lb spring rate 402 mm in length) which are stiffer, if you have added weight like a plate bumper and winch.

Dackers are just OME's brand of leaf springs. http://www.oldmanemu.com.au/products/emu-dakar-leaf-springs/

Thanks for the tip on Dakars. I have been on the ARBUSA site most of the AM checking out different things, but hadn't thought to go to Australian / OME site.

So, if people are looking at replacing the 886s on the heavy kit, it would be to provide a better ride. I am looking at procuring a used ARB front bumper and also have dual batteries, so probably going to go with 886s. Some posts around that state handling with a steel plate bumper and lesser front suspension is NOT a good thing.

Just to let you guys know, the ARB Rebate is a Gift Card and you will not see that discount on the total price from Low Range. (Mail in Rebate) I did the numbers before i got the invoice from Low Range and the price they gave me did not add up because i was tracking the ARB was 125$ off my purchase. Just thought i would share that with you guys.

Hi all, read every page of this thread but still have a couple questions.

I'd like to put this package on a gen2 access cab that will have a permanent camper, platform, etc… so load on rear will always be in excess of 600lbs. I also plan to install bumper and winch.

From what I've gathered it's best to stick with the Heavy Kit and the 886 coils. I was originally going to do UCA GB with 887's as I wanted full 3"... until I realized the 887 had same spring rate as stock kit. Will I also need spacer if I go 886 route? I'd like full 3" and still plan to get UCA.

Also, I wasn't sure how leafs in the heavy kit would support my load, would I need to upgrade these? Any input from folks with more of an expedition build would greatly help. Thanks!

Get the heavy kit with .5 inch top plate spacer with the trim packer. There is also an extra addition you can add to the dakars.it is the d29xl addition to help with that extra weight in the rear.

You are supposed to upload your receipt AND the UPC. Unless you already received your suspension and box with UPC, you may get rejected and need to resubmit. I am not 100% on this because they are asking for just a picture of the UPC and usually rebates require them to be cut off and mailed in. Keep me updated if you get a confirmation, please.

Good point. The ARB promotional fine print does say "reproduction of UPC barcode nullifies offer".

When you order the kit with swapped springs, the receipt shows the normal kit number and the springs are another line item. It almost looks like you purchased the kit and also purchased the requested springs separately. I don't think there will be any issues with the rebate.
