    So this is what I did today...

    I took it all back apart after the pictures, cleaned up the cutouts in the bumper and painted everything. Tomorrow I get to start fabbing the mount for the fuse block and relays. Then the real fun begins...:frusty:

    BTW, I have to confess common sense deserted me today. It's a really bad idea to use a rotary file while wearing sandals unless you like digging tiny slivers of metal out of your feet. :facepalm::oops:

    So the procrastination begins...

    I got the light bar side of the light bar wired up, the wire going to the light bar routed in the general area where the fuse block and relays with be, and I got the bumper back on so that end of things is buttoned up. I worked on the mounting pad where I'll be mounting the fuse block. Got it mostly finished and painted. Still need to drill some holes in it for wire tie cleats, but it wasn't going to be dry any time soon with the humidity so I puttered around and decided to re-purpose the heavy-duty wire the PO left in the truck for an amplifier. I striped it out and it will now be the primary power wire for my fuse block.

    Hopefully when I get up tomorrow my fuse block mounting plate will be dry so I can finish adding the cleats and get it installed. Then comes the real fun...making up the 16 wire bundle going to the switches, stuffing it into the sheathing, and getting it routed into place. The switches themselves are going to be a big ole time as well since I'm going to have to find and splice into a dash illumination wire 6 times (one for each switch).
    Shit, I have a lot of work to do. Did I mention, I hate wiring? :boom:

    I sure as heck hope it comes out looking as clean as some of the jobs I've seen some of you do.

    Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention, I'm putting heat shrink over all the connections just to add another level of PITA to the process. The stuff I did today with it did make it look good through.

    Are you doing a dual battery set up as well? As for the dash light wire, you can get some kind of small block that has 1 terminal in and 6 out that way it's one wire to a block then your 6 wires to the switches. That would look cleaner and then you can add a fuse between the truck power and that block for added fire protection lol

    Nope, just a single. Don't really have a need for dual batteries. Only additional power demands are one 120W light bar, LED cab clearance lights, CB, and a couple of LED pod lights (the plan is to run six, adding front and rear ditch lights to the flush mounted rear lights). Maybe if I had a winch and used it a lot on long pulls, I could see the need for dual batteries, but that won't be happening in the near future.

    Not a bad idea about the terminal strip though. I don't have a lot of room to ply with under the dash, but I could always move it under the console or something like that. As for the fuse, the dash lights should already be fused so that'd kinda be redundant. :thumbsup:

    My dual battery set up that is half finished has a breaker, solenoid, and giant inline fuse between the two batteries. You can never have two many fuses, it would suck to have no dash lights at night for something you added and don't need all the time. Anything can happen with modified cars or trucks. Something I learned doing endurance races when I was club racing.

    I would maybe atleast look into this

    You can go off your dash light fuse and still keep both on separate fuses. Plus you are not hacking into the factory harness. You can find those at autozone
