You guys wouldn't happen to be working on a similar style for the 3rd gen?

Is that a foldable CB mount you've got at the base of your antenna? If so, which mount is it, and do you find it has much play to it? I want to order one, but I've heard that they aren't necessarily as 'snug' as folks would like them to be.

    Cheers!

I've got the folding adapter at the base, and there's a little bit of play, but it's not too much at all. It works great as it acts like a spring and can also be folded down for parking garages.

No it's just the quick disconnect mount. I've found that the 5' firestik fits perfectly in the little gap behind the rear seats on the DC where the back and bottom of the seats meet. You can see the gap I'm talking about in the pic below. I just keep it there while I'm not using the CB

Ah that's a good point about it acting like a spring - maybe I'll just pick up one of these instead of the spring. I was considering just getting a spring and then folding it over when I need to, although I'm not sure which would work better.

I do like the quick disconnect system as well; which system is yours? How sturdy is it? Does it have a significant amount of play as well? Any things worth noting?

Mine is just the 5' firestik with qd mount. Nice and sturdy but flexes and bends when it needs to. No play in it.

Is that the Firestick NGP Antenna you have on there? I haven't dug into it yet, but I was trying to figure out where I might pass the cable through the body into the cab without making too big of a hole. Obviously can't cut the wire since it's a matched set and changing it would likely mess up the functionality.

No it's not. It's the regular one. It grounds to the mount so no point to have a NGP.
