Anybody that runs their tent on a FrontRunner rack know of an easy way to get to the nuts to remove them. It takes me about an hour to take my tent off and on.

I was still able to take a nap through the storm, but it wasn't quiet. Only thing I learned was I need to tie down the ladder side since the wind got under that and blew it up which put the ladder out of place and made the tent not as tight.

Has anybody made something to put shoes in right outside the door? I know some of the newer tents come with a pouch, but I'm trying to think of an easy to make solution.

Fabric grocery bag that the tree huggers carry around. Hook it to the tensioning rod. Bam.

That could work too. I like it.

Hey for those of you that don't want to hardwire lighting into your tent, I bought an LED dome light for a roll bar off Amazon. Takes AAA batteries and I'm going to test it out in my tent this weekend. I think it will be great!

Anyone have a picture of their RTT with surfboards on racks? I have an Access Cab with a camper (with yakima racks). Trying to think of some ways to accommodate both the RTT and boards once I purchase my RTT!

Yeah, my friends same tent was parked right next to mine and had no issues and I've never had any wind issues before. Must have been a wind money shot.

I do the same thing now. I keep ear plugs in the pouches inside for this very purpose. Lots of desert camping for me, and the wind can never be predicted. I also use a ratchet strap around my tire, then another from the top of the ladder to that to keep it down in the wind. Works like a charm and you don't have to fear the dreaded taco fold up while inside. I think @MTgirl had that happen to her.

I had wind blow really hard in just the right direction to actually push my free end of the tent up and basically close the tent. I happened to be sitting in the truck at the time. I couldn't believe that could happen....

My buddy gave it to me, it's a cargo net for like a car or SUV. I looped it through the clip that holds the ladder down (when closed up) and one of the things that holds the rain fly down
