You know your Tacoma doesn't have spark plug wires, right?

Honestly I do not. Was discussing changing plugs and a friend told me replacing plugs and wires was easy. Live and learn. So I just need new plugs?

Just a bunch of old crap
There technically are wires that go to each coil, but you should be fine just changing your plugs and spraying out the coils with some electronics cleaner spray. Just take care of the pigtails when you unclip from each coil so you do don't break one.

Well, you may need new plugs. I believe the manual calls for replacing them every 30K miles.

Unfortunately, they aren't quite as simple to work on as older vehicles with the plugs and wires exposed and easily reachable.

Don't get me wrong, anyone can do it. It's just not as easy as it was on older vehicles with plug wires.

    Here's a good write-up on the subject.

It really isn't bad at all. I'm an occasional shadetree mechanic, and I've done it a few times with no issues. There really isn't much to get out of the way. Just take your time with the coil clips and do everything nice and easy.
