    Hello all,

I'm new to this site so please bear with me. I came here to look for latest info on leaf springs recall but after reading some posts, it looks like I'm not the only one. The passenger side leaf spring busted but I was able to do a redneck repair job to at least save the leaf that broke and keep from losing it. I used a few 'muffler clamps' to hold the thing together. So far so good. That was two years ago. My ride is a 2009 4 cylinder 4x4 that has been flawless since I bought it new in December 2008. Traded in my '99 Taco and with the help of the money Toyota gave me due to the rusted frame problem to get it off the road, it was fairly painless to buy new. My other 'ride' was a CH47 'C model' Chinook helicopter the Government loaned me for my service in the Republic of VietNam ('69 - '71), Charlie Company, 228th Assault Support Helicopter Battalion, III Corps RVN. Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum, just so I'm clear, you've been driving with a broken leaf spring for two years?
