Took a trip out to the Maze last week. 3x vehicles, a stock Rubicon Unlimited, Lexus x470 on 33's and my stock tacoma. Camped at Cleopatra's Chair, Happy Canyon, Doll House, and the Wall. Had a wind storm the first night and snow the second but clear up the rest of the trip. Scenery was absolutely stunning. Trail was intense, we made it through no problem but for comfort's sake I wouldn't do it again in a stock rig. I'll heed the advice of others when I say that this is remote country and you've got to be prepped for any and every scenario. I'll have more wheeling pics once I get ahold of my brothers camera.

Great Thread! What type of tent do you have on your tacoma?

Thanks Ari. It's a Tepui Kukenam Sky. We had the rain fly on due to wind and snow the first two nights.

Great pics! Did you have to reserve camp spots or is it open blm?
What would you add to your rig if doing the same run again? Just curious on what you feel is needed over your stock rig.

Yup, we camped in Canyonlands formal so had to make reservations through the NPS website. They have a portal for choosing days that works pretty well. The access road in from the south goes through BLM land I believe.

Curious to see some more pics. I'm headed to the Maze in a couple months and getting pretty excited.

Certainly. I did my research and was still surprised by the terrain so I'm happy to share. Should have more photos by this weekend. Also the forum's auto-spell keeps jumping in, my buddy is in a "gx" 470.. A 4runner for all intents and purposes.

Awesome pics, looks like a great trip. Next time I head out to Canyonlands I wanna hit up the Maze. I've experienced Island in the Sky and the Needles districts. Amazing places as well.

The maze is such an awesome place! You're right about the burly section of Teapot canyon- it's pretty technical and it is one of the most remote parts of the lower 48. I went through it last year without sliders and made it out without any damage (hit the exhaust a few times and drug the receiver hitch even with a 2" lift and 33s). I wouldn't go back without sliders and a skid protecting the exhaust where it crosses under the tranny!

Thank you for sharing you pics.

Going to Canyonlands for the first time in June to do some hiking and sightseeing. I wish I could get my truck there to experience your trip.
