    Hey everybody.
    Im new to the whole car stuff as I just got my license. Got myself a tacoma in red, and really want to plasti dip the two toyota emblems and also the letters in the tacoma on the side of the truck. I was wondering how you guys also did this, if there is any other threads out there that shows you how to do this, or if not could anybody help me out...... Thanks

    Okay thanks. What about the grille, any way to take that off too or just easier to dip it on the car?

    Your grill should come off fairly easily. There's a couple screws and some plastic pins that hold it on. Personally I'd remove it just to make the process easier, but I'm not sure what most people do for that part.

    Another more permanent option is to paint them but don't try to paint over chrome. It sticks like crap. Instead, remove the chrome with bleach, spray with adhesive promoter, then paint. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/removing-chrome-plating-from-emblems.393280/

    Even spray paint will eventually need to be touched up. The permanent solution is to buy blacked out emblems from Toyota if they are still available.
