I think for you man you should go with the all white strips IF you want the brightness an usefulness I say go with the white strip down that would make you look like a space ship. But if you want the multi color with less outputs go RGBW if not then sell those an buy amother set of switch backs

the strips are definitely brighter.. might be a bigger PITA to install tho since its one long strip ya know. those pods are just screw in and done.

if I do the strips, I wont have enough open spots to run switchbacks on the side.

its either RGB rock lights with a remote (so I dont use a switchpro spot) and then I can run switchbacks on the side since I will have 2 open switches.

    or..

run the plain white strips (using a switchpro spot) and run plain white lights on the side (using a switchpro spot)

Then now depends on if you want switch backs on the side or not .. I don't think you needs them would look nice but not a exacto need

For sure.. The only reason I was thinkin about them was that if we are cruising those tight trails, at night, with the dust.. The white will just glare off everything. Ill have amber everywhere else, so it will cut through.. But then I'd have white/glare right out the sides. But maybe its not that big of a deal? Idk. Just trying to think of everything so I only do this once.

    The rock lights?

I'd just do white if it is truly easier wiring wise. Mounted all the way underneath, the glare should be minimal. And not really used/useful except when going slower than "dust-making speed"

The only white I've had issue with was where the light bar was behind the stinger (direct reflection) and kind of the rock lights by the front upper shock mounts (directly visible in a tube buggy with limited sheet metal).

    I'll text you man.

no I meant the side lights. those being amber and white like the rest of my lighting I think would be beneficial.

the rock lights.. yeah i think im just gonna do the strips. one down each side of the truck. I can always add a wireless pod kit later if I really want to be fancy. I just like the colors and music sync... fun for camping.

I was actually looking at those this morning. lol

little pricey, and they dont do everything I was hoping for.

I have (5) 16ft strips of 5630 LED (brightest/largest LED available) to run down the truck. they will be plenty bright.

Thats the problem.. the RGB LED use the 3528 or 5050 LEDs. not as bright, but small so they can get more of them in there, to create the RGB effect.

guess it just proves why I went with my original plan of the 5630 strips.

Yeah, dual-color option would be a plus, but depends on your switch room. I would definitely keep them switched separate as much as possible, I see them being off more than on.

Campsite great (red could be good here also), navigation/finding turnoffs great, glare while focusing forward, no Bueno.

From MTB lights, helmet mounted is good for "light where you look", but the glare/flashback in the dust isn't good and they kill the shadows of coming bumps/hills. So I have typically run the helmet on the low output setting and the bar on high unless the dust gets real vicious.

exactly. everything else on the truck has dual color option. one switch lights up the white (whether it be the pods, lightbar, etc) and another switch lights em up as amber. independently.. not on at the same time.

so.. yeah, thats why I was thinkin white/amber for the sides as well. would be dumb to have all my forward facing lights be set to amber if we are in a dusty environment, cruising down the trial, being able to see perfectly.. only to have blinding white right out the side of the truck. amber there would be great. BUT.. that means i wouldnt have a switch available for rock lights.. UNLESS i get a set of pods.. that has a remote.

think I might do it! its cheap.. why not. just gotta run it inside the truck.. which isnt fun for wiring, but oh well. It SHOULD work with regular LED strips (non RGB)
