Function might be something to consider......I could give 2 shits about a bunch of over hyped crap that just doesn't work as good as something else more functional and better priced without the name recognition. We are talking about vent guards here and there isn't much to wear out and pretty much all of them are using same materials so all there is is a bit of cosmetic variance, smoke or dark and tape-on or in-channel. Other more important parts is where to consider rep and durability and where paying a little more for that makes more sense.

Ordered the AVS in-channel for my 1st gen DC. Never heard of EGR until I read this thread. Hope they are just as good as the EGRs!

    ^ Hope so.

I'll say that EGR has great customer service. After 9 or 10 years last summer/fall, the tape on the driver's rear visor was getting loose. I emailed them telling them the situation and was just asking what kind of tape I should use. They asked for my contact info and sent me the tape for both rear visors at no charge!

I'm looking to investing in these deflectors. Dark vs Light tint, what's your recommendation? I drive a silver double cab tacoma with factory tint windows (lighter tint in front, darker in the rears)
