I don't have one yet but from what I've seen it mounts to the screws of the roof tracks.

@geekhouse23 has a net installed. He gave me the idea, but I just ran 550 cord and attached a bunch of carribiners. Doesn't hold a lot of weight, but does come in very handy for hanging various things from the roof that I don't want on the floor.

Just got my rack installed on my camper shell. I went with the 59" Vortex Rhino Rack, and it's VERY similar to the Yakima Whispbar but much cheaper. You can also get it in all black which I believe looks better. If you have a shell with no rails, this kit DOES include the rails also. The rails may have to be cut down in order to fit, depending on your bed/ cap length.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rhino-Rack-...ash=item1c60c5e537:g:ggYAAOSwnLdWsBMh&vxp=mtr

The kit on ebay comes with the rails, but I already had a set installed on the Snugtop. I went with 59" bars, and they are perfect, with a couple of caveats. If you're going to install on Yakima tracks, you'll need to buy new nuts, Yakima Anchor Plate A - Set of 8 which cost about $8. Also, the rails on the cap are only 37" apart, which is a little narrower than the bars allow the feet to be placed.. I drilled a hole about 1" inward on each slot on the bottom of the rack bars. I then used an angle grinder to extend the slots. All of this modified area is covered by the rack feet, so it will still look perfect. This modification sounds involved, but with a drill and angle grinder it took all of 5 minutes. Rack is dead quiet, and is the perfect width if you don't want to hit your head.

Picked up a SnugTop XtraVision this weekend.

Has the Carpeted Headliner,Yakima Rails on top, Screens on the side windows, Fold down front window, 3rd brake light, interior dome light, and clothes hanger.

Called Snugtop today and they said the weigh rating for the top is only 200lbs... so not sure how I would do a RTT on it if I ever got one.

I've got the same cap. Found it used locally for a screaming deal. I've run our tepui on it with no problems so far.

I've heard that the Snugtop outback can take up 500 lbs. It's on the website, it must be true. It would also solve the tailgate questions of which lock to get.

The XV had the yakima tracks installed from the factory, but a previous owner had kept them. So I used the mounting holes already drilled and added yakima tracks, load towers, and round bars.

Today I was adjusting my leer cap on the truck. I used a ratchet strap tied on both of resr corner and I tightened it to close the gap between the door and the sides of the shell. Then while I was putting back the clamps in place, I was wondering if there is a maximum torque to respect when tightening the clamps to avoid breaking something.... Of course I put more torque on it because I want the shell to stay in place but I don't want to cause damage... Any thoughts?

I have two straps hanging from front to back in my shell. I use them to hang stuff up. The straps are ENO hammock straps so they are easy to hook light weigh carabeaners to hang light stuff like wet cycling clothes towels fishing poles etc.

Hey, looking nice! I've got a prinsu cab rack, but am about to install a yakima rack & tracks on the camper shell. You're making me think I should have got a matching prinsu rack instead...

Anyway, any chance you could measure how far from center you installed your tracks & how close to the front/end you ran your track? Looking for ideas. Thanks!

I had one for a bit, hung from the thule bar screws visible inside the cap. Sagged too much for me and bounced stuff around.
I also was hoping to use it when camping in the back, but it sags way too much for that.

Anyone got any pics of a ARE X shell on a 2nd Gen Tacoma. I am trying to see pics of one and compare it to the looks of the ARE CX. Any X canopy owners out there that can post a pic.

    From the Leer FAQ:

What is the weight capacity of my LEER factory installed Thule Roof Rack System?

When factory-installed on a LEER Model 100XQ, 100XL, 100XR, 100R, 180, or 122, the Thule Aero Bar and Tracker II Roof Rack systems have a maximum load capacity of 150 lbs. When factory-installed on a LEER Model 100RCC or 180CC, the Thule Professional Roof Rack system has a maximum load capacity of 400 lbs. There are other critical factors in safely carrying and securing loads to your roof rack – these factors are explained in the instructions provided by Thule with the roof rack.
