@Dave41079 i was really close to going with the KM2's and your rig was what put them in contention but i jsut got a better deal on these maxx's. i also hear that the maxx's run better in snow. whether or not that is true, we get a TON of snow so i will find out. Love your truck. super sharp

Ran some muddy trails last week in Northern Arizona with 255/85 Cooper ST tires. These mild looking tires amaze me in mud too.WP_20160519_09_41_39_Pro.jpg

Just got them yesterday. Left Discount Tire and drove to a National Forest. These St Maxx's are great all around tires. I couldn't be happier with them. Looks just right on the truck too.

Looks great, any lift or just stock? My eyes are bad but those look like Method NV's...Have to ask hows the noise on the road...not that it bothers me unless its nearing that obscene level...

I like the size, but without sifting the other 178 pages why not 255/80/17?
Too Tall too narrow is what I first see, maybe some other cab rubbing....any quick hits to help me keep this in the running or should this one be shit canned and go back to thinking about 275/70/17 - 285/70/17 - 255/80/16 + hashover. I wish I had a good tire guy down the street that would let me mount them up and compare or had enough taco neighbors to see the diff. Looking for you guys that have had to dig it out and have some good feedback pros and cons, lift mix ...etc .....TIA

3" lift. Yep they're method NV's. I just drove from GA to MO today and they sound like street tires. Not loud at all, surprisingly.

I get a tiny amount of rubbing on the front flaps but I'm not taking them off so rocks can chip the paint up. I can live with it. Power loss is less noticeable than 285's, although they're the same diameter. Truck still has plenty of power.

FWIW, I was initially against this tire size. Didn't even want to consider it. The ST Maxx tires seem to be a little wider than other brands. I am super picky and don't think they look too skinny. I even looked at this and a 265/75 side-by-side. They looked almost exactly the same, the 255 being slightly taller. I just got a better deal ($180 ea) on the 255's.

I had Discount tire price match a local tire dealer (North GA Tire and Alignment).

Just got a set of ST Maxxs mounted up this week. No rubbing anywhere on street or trail behind my office. I will do some real wheeling this weekend and see how they do. So far happy with the on-road performance.

Looks great. Do you happen to know the backspacing on those wheels?

Thanks the wheels are 16 in x 7.5 in x 10mm offset which I believe equates to around ~ 4.5 to 4.6 of backspacing.
