Yeah I am, i've been doing 4 miles every other day for since February so I should be fine. The not sleeping will be my downfall.

I was at Great Lakes from NOV 2000 to JAN- 2004. I was common / mech. core inst. from DEC- 2000 to JUL-2001. AUG- 2001 to AUG 2003 i was night shift remediation instructor, performed uniform re inspection and administered the EMI program.
It was a home run for me personally, during the day i was going to Chicago taking classes in stationary engineering. I received my city of Chicago stationary engineers license and other credentials. I'm sure our paths crossed.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
We may have crossed paths. My whole MM class didn't very well. Forgot who the instructor was, but he was an MM1. We had to take night class to get through. I aced common core and mechanical core, but MM A school, I was second highest score in the class, and everyone almost failed it. Didn't help that for some reason my ears had exploded and was deaf and in pain for two weeks during that course.

    Lots.
Thank you, Sir. I'm enjoying it so far. Surfing over at Dam Neck is pretty fun. Had to make an extended stop at a certain school where folks with a higher risk of capture by the enemy go to in Maine. That was not fun. Given your career, I'm sure you went and can share my sentiment.

Yea, it took a little while. But, does anything in the Navy happen quickly?

Not sir. That's Senior Chief, shipmate. And yes, I went to that school. I, too, went to Maine. Nothing was available on the West Coast at that time.

I was in VA-95 and on the Abe for those workups...AT1, ran the AT shop after Jeff Amidon. Then left the Navy to commission in the AF.
A6 was one of the greatest planes ever built.

    Hey Senior,
I'll never forget when I received orders to Brunswick. My wife and I thought.... Oh boy this is going to suck. Man were we wrong. In the 10 years I spent in it was by far our favorite place. We have been thinking about a visit for a while now.

ABH, did a few years including a deployment on the Bush (CVN-77) now I'm on the Enterprise (CVN-65) decommissioning it in Security. Less than 90 days left it!! I can almost remember what freedom feels like...

We went over there when we were still at the outfitting pier in Newport news finishing up RCOH...

As big of a POS as the enterprise looked.. I will always respect that ship and crew..

Good old Connie and it's not a piece of cake, when I'm use to sleeping for 7 hours while doing nothing. Boot camp was very sleepy. Didn't know I can sleep while marching. GL MA a school. Take corrections when you get a chance.

There's been a change in the services. At least CG and from what I've seen, the Navy. Don't know what it is but I get a feeling that instead of taking care of our crew and shipmates people are more after what's in it for them. So quick to sell you up the river than to get you back to the rack to sleep it off. I now know why all those Chiefs before me were so grumpy.

I went on a couple missions to Columbia. The Rule is: There is NO drinking in SOUTHCOM. There was a wink and a nod. Big Boy Rules. But then some dumbass officer screwed up big and so the rule was more The Rule. No more winks and nods. This was the 2004-07 time frame.

Quick Question...how many Navy Vets. were a rating that doesn't even exist any more?
There aren't any more Boiler Techs, as far as I know, since nothing has boilers any longer.
