    Stock for now...
I'd just get a set of McGard's nickle based nuts and replace those oem swollen nuts . Saves on ice and they never rust or change size , well worth the price .

OEM lug nuts suck if one rotates the tires on a regular basis since the covers fall off fast. Bought some solid ones years ago and they have held up fine.

go to Rock Auto, they have the Dorman brand lug nuts cheap by the box of ten. Get three boxes so you will have half a dozen spares.

and once you have the new lug nuts, just use the larger socket and throw away the old lugs nuts. I like the six point impact style. I tend to buy the Williams brand from McMaster-Carr, www.mcmaster.com. They are the snap-on industrial brand, inexpensive and tough. I have yet to wear one out, and just bought a set of six point 3/4 drive impact, 7/8 to 2" for heavy equipment work.

“I have since ordered myself in a dual flip sided 21/21.5mm socket designed to remove chrome capped lug nuts like these. I will report how it fits when it comes in.”

Newbie here ... have popped on and off since I got my 2008 ... still going 10 years now.

I’ve have the exact situation you had ... swollen nuts, I guess. I’ve changed/rotated tires before and none of my usual tools work. Had been using 13/16 w/ breaker bar just fine. Now nothing. Went out bought the 21mm ... same. Nothing. Before I drive out (again) and get a 22mm

... so what did you do? What worked?

(All this to fix the parking brake that's locking up my rear end ... at least that’s the hunch. Why do things always take 5x longer than expected )

Ha! Must have missed this gem. I banged a 21mm socket onto the swollen nut like it owed me money and put the solid nutz on.

You are not crazy. Digital calipers on supplied emergency wheel wrench reads 21.3mm. 13/16 would fit if I hammered it on, it reads 20.94mm. Also have old chrome stock nuts. Do they get more swollen the older they get you think? Or do they just swell up more early on when it's new and exciting? Like you are driving her out in the bush every weekend, out for dinner after work on a weekday, to the movies... and then wither with age when you are just going back and forth to the ski hill and grocery store? Wondering if i should order one of those special swoll-nut sockets or just wait it out?
