Headers and Y Pipe Questions

    I currently have the JBA long tubes and have been thinking about replacing them with the new URD equal length headers. Has anyone had the JBA OR DT long tubes and then switched to URD? Worth the swap?

    Also, has anyone done a custom y pipe? I can't go fully catless in PA or I won't pass inspection, so I'm just curious to hear/see some custom y pipe jobs.

    I went straight for the URD but youll have to decide if its worth the pain and suffering to install. They are awesome, but they took myself and 3 other mechanically inclined friends 7 hours to install. That being said i have the air injction and you dont, so you may suffer less.

    I bought the flowmaster American thunder exhaust (didn't care for it). I put a jones turbine on and it sounds way better maybe a little more power. I've been looking at dough thorely long tube headers with Y pipe for more power gain, bad or good idea?

    Thorleys are good. URD Spec-U headers are even better.

    Noticed that the URD header is listed at 595, but once you put it in the cart it bumps up to 670

    Look closely. It says is light grey, " - Add Dual Rear O2 Simulator : Yes +$75.00"

    If you don't want those, then you will need to call. Be warned that you will have a CEL though.

    There should at least be the option to deselect it. With a notice of information.

    Yes, they are the best option, and quality avaliable. Installation shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

    WD-40 for the exhaust hangers. Copper antiseize for the threads of the O2 sensors, and hardware. I do not remember if gaskets come with the Y-pipe. The heavy duty ones from URD are multi-use, whereas the OEM header to Y are single use.

    Y pipe took me about half an hour, I wanna say it came with new gaskets. Noise will probably be a bit louder, but you'll notice alot more rasp at higher rpms since the back cats settle out engine noise. Performance you might see a slight bump, but if you're still on a stock headers and exhaust, you wont see much.

    Well I've got a Borla and want more noise and if it's too much rasp I'll just add another muffler but I figure if I want more I'll just add headers

    The equal length Y-pipe will net a little better gain than the 4x4 Y-pipe. If it fits your vehicle.

    We dyno'd my friends 4Runner after his Y-pipe install. Mid and up, it picked up a significant amount from before. Doug Thorley headers, and the rest stock until the swap.

    I'm 4x4 so I don't think the equal length would work.
