hey @HomerTaco! I was just curious about your setup with the RTT on your leer 100xq... I have the same canopy, and am putting a roof rack on it so i can put the rtt ontop. I was curious if you've run into any problems from the weight? And also if you found that the tent sat way too high on your crossbars? I just bought some thule towers/bars, but i'm not sure if it was the right choice now. I see you have the prinsu rack now, which is what i hope to eventually get. Does your rtt sit much lower on the prinsu?

any other tips on this setup? my only difference is that i'm a long bed. also, did you find your wind deflector help economy or wind noise a lot? I might try to make something similar. it's at least a good spot to advertise my new company like i see you've done haha

I'd be curious what mods he did to lower his tent. Mine is the ruggedized tepui autana which is around 190lbs with annex, so maybe 150 on the roof, but i'm confident it will be okay. Just was worried that the canopy would eventually fatigue and crack after many bouncy dirt road trips, but i'm stoked to hear he is problem free!

I would definitely love to get the prinsu, but they are pretty expensive especially with our canadian dollar right now, so it's not an option at the moment unfortunately =[ good to know that it does sit lower though. I was thinking of trying to fabricate my own towers/crossbars that would sit really low and run in the tracks, but don't have the time to make it happen currently as i need the tent on asap

 

At some point - trying to get caught up after 12 days gone.

I returned home on Wednesday of this past week but immediately returned to work at HD on Thurs & Fri. Playing catch-up this weekend and also "Mr.Mom" as MrsTACO is assisting with a wedding shoot in NYC until late this evening. Tomorrow I fly out to LA for 4 days to attend a training class for HD. I hate flying but HD is footing the bill so I can't complain I guess.
I took some much needed time off and attended probably the best TW meet we've got.
