Ran my cord to the center console which was fine. Obviously I opened and closed the console a lot more after it was installed, then the console latch breaks. Plastic button pops off and spring shoots out FML! Came across a thread for how to fix the latch on here and it worked out really well. Just a word of caution that the latch might ware out if you run the cable to the console

i ordered mine shortly after purchasing my truck and i don't regret it at all. my friends think that it wasn't worth it since i could have gotten an aftermarket radio for around the same price but i didn't want to get rid of my stock radio when i got my truck there was a hole drilled in the compartment infront of the cupholder under the a/c control i ran the auxilary wire through that hole and had the ipod cord run through the center console

Anyone put one of these in a 1st gen? Would love to have my iPod on my stock radio in my 2000.

The website lists my truck as an option so I assume it has the magical empty port on the back of the radio?

Thread revival. I can't believe the product exists! I've been looking into newer OEM radios just to get aux function, didn't know this existed. Sweet!!

Time for a bump! :) In all seriousness, I've been looking for a bluetooth kit for my 2010 for the last few days. Does the stock 6CD changer still works after I put this in? I don't use it, but I want to know beforehand.

@SCFirefighter Yes the stock 6 disc changer still works, I just installed the Pure Bluetooth with aux in my 08, everything works perfect so far. In order to use the Bluetooth or aux you have to have disc 1 empty and select cd 1-1 on the factory radio

@txtaco87 I'm thinking about getting the iPhone kit, does anyone know how well it works. Sound quality, just had my frame replaced and feeling like giving my truck some love.

The Bluetooth kit has an aux cable and works great, as far as the direct 30pin/lightning cable connection I'm sure it's the exact same quality!

Any reviews on this after using for several months or a year? Read about them causing electrical glitches after a few months, or they quit working. Thinking about installing this in my '08 but not if it doesn't last.

    Thanks

So the actual iPhone cable method (not BlueTooth) will still allow you to use the CD player? That would be great! I've got the 6-disc changer in mine and, while I don't really use CD's too often, it would still be nice to retain the option.
