Door sill Protectors what are you buying and where?

I ordered a set from Amazon.ca. They are supposed to be from Toyota but my parts department at my local dealer can't find it on their system.
They have Tacoma embossed on them and I will see how they are. I will report back when I get them.

My dealer is the same way, but Cochrane Toyota sell a lot more accessories for the Tacoma than the other dealers

 

Yes all you need is a savvy parts guys. The women at our dealership is good but if it isn't in the computer it doesn't exist. At least she gives me a break on the parts she can find.

 

Ordered a set from Amazon.ca. They are Toyota parts but they are the cheapest thing I have ever seen. I thought they would be hard plastic with an adhesive backing. They are pieces of vinyl. The US price is actually 16.99. Amazon.ca charged me 64.10 plus 11.19 for shipping. I did not expect 4 pieces of Mac Tac. I am totally upset over this and I cannot believe Toyota would sell such a cheap POS as a Genuine Toyota part.
I am in the process of trying to return them but they actually came from A US supplier and they think they are worth 16.99 US. They can't understand why I am upset with them. Of course Amazon.ca just pushes me off to the supplier. What a joke.

Yes they are probably rubber but I did not open the package as I am sending them back. They are so thin they look like Mac Tac. The damn supplier wont send me a return shipping label so I am into an AZ claim. Amazon says the seller should send me a shipping label and the seller says they don't. Nice. Amazon says their sellers have the same return policy as they do. NOT. I should have said they are very thin rubber that is close to the thickness of Mac Tac. They are in a clear plastic wrap and came in a box about 4 inches by 6 inches all rolled up. For my total of 75 dollars they are definitely not worth it. If I paid 16.99 I would not be upset. That is what they are worth in dealer prices so you can gauge what they are actually worth.

 

I got these when I first got my Truck last fall. Awesome investment. Had to pay duty on them of $25

Do these wrap over the edge?

 

Just a tad but not much. They do the bare minimum.

Ordered a set for my 2015 double cab from G-Tek a couple of days ago. $90 USD plus $18 shipping to me in Kelowna. He ships USPS and that cost is flat rate to Canada. I ordered the black non-diamond plate aluminum protectors.

 

I just went to lordco and ordered some avs door sill protectors $100 they showed up in a week. Really good quality

 

Just stumbled on this old thread so I thought I’d give it a bump.

I have these for 2nd & 3rd gen AC and DC in diamond plate or smooth finish 16 gauge aluminum, powder coated carbide texture black which is like a textured matte finish. They all wrap over the edge 1” for the best protection. One TW member called them “Door Sill Armor” which is about as accurate as they can be described.
