Off roading my truck for first time I noticed the wonderful steering wheel clunk on wash board road, and I know this is nothing new. My truck is 2015 and I see the 2016 has different part number buts looks identical. 45220-04010 shows up too 2015, 45220-04050 shows for 2016. Does anyone have good connection with there dealer to be able to compare them to see if it interchanges. My dealer is hard to work with and I wont waste my time with service dept, and I would buy it myself and install new one.

According to Toyota parts manual that part the zip tie is installed into is called the intermediate shaft, unless you find its called something else as I am looking at wrong part. Appreciate response. If I am looking at part correctly seems the 2016 is the same, but I am wondering why it has different part number. The area where people have installed zip tie surely could have bigger wider bushing. I was wondering if new part # might have that zip tie area better designed?

The Intermediate shaft is the one below the cab of the truck. The one with the rag joint is called the " NO. 2 Intermediate Shaft ". I just looked it up. I know it is splitting hairs. :)

The Intermediate shaft connects to it below the cab.

Does not seem to be, at least according to the current parts manuals. I tried running the number and also looked for a revised part number in attempt to tie it backwards to 2nd gens.
