:annoyed: There's a 2014 black regular cab here for sale. If I were able to buy it, I'd keep it in an AC garage and wheel my white one.

Dealer told me the rc have a smaller spring than the other cabs. I dropped my truck off Monday to have the recall done, went to pick it up yesterday only to find out they did nothing since they have to order the "smaller" springs. I was dumbfounded and a bit pissed off. I thought they had the same springs, just wanted to double check here

My Toyota parts search showed same leaf springs for both v6 and i4 model Tacomas.

Any advice or links to install instructions for the wiring to an ARB compressor and locker switches? Wiring is beyond confusing to me.

There is a lot more work than one would think. Basically the same work required to swap in any engine. Might as well swap in an engine that has more room to grow at that point. That being said, I have loaded the heck out of my truck for trips and never had a problem. @weldertaco has a flat bed and hauls some pretty good load for a 4cyl.

I was thinking the main issue would be getting a driveshaft made the right length. I figured the tranny mounting points would be similar.

Reason nobody does a v6 swap-
Power-price ratio isn't worth it. Better off getting a supercharger. Can be installed in a weekend and ends up with the same power.

Then! Like @BabyTaco said, if you're gonna swap an engine then might as well make it worth it. The v6 is a good engine but there's not a ton of aftermarket support and the power potential is already pretty maxed out without boosting it.

Which means if you want the same power as a boosted v6 then just swap in an aluminum 5.7(LS1) and have a reliable 300+HP all day every day in an all stock engine. And if you decide to want more power then you can just throw a cam in it with headers and a tune and boom. 350hp.

You're gonna do the same amount of work with swapping a Toyota v6 in as an LS1 so might as well go v8 and have much more torque and power.

Especially if you want to crawl. 3k rpm in a LS1 will do what 5krpm in a boosted v6 will but the LS will do it much easier. Which means less breaking shit.

I want oem custom that was never a purchase option.....like the dude who did all the 2013 interior and front clip in speedway blue. 2013 speedway blue sport AC is a unicorn of sorts (oem custom) That v6 with 6 speed would be bigger difference going in a reg cab vs. going from 4 to 6 cyl in access or double cab would be. My buddy has an 05 AC OR with the v6 6spd and it pulls great compared to my 4cyl 5spd....it would be worth it to me and I'd love doing the swap myself. I did a full cab/motor swap on my 82 before, no big deal. Finding a totaled donor truck with mostly rear end / body damage with the v6 6spd shouldn't be that difficult IMO, and not anything more expensive than a new SC setup would be. $4500 goes a long way in salvageland, which is about what I'd need to SC my 4 cyl with the URD kit. Maybe some year..................
