image.jpg For Sale 2003 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD 4WD. Low mileage at 86k. Complete Turn Key Expedition Ready Truck!

    SOLD

    3.4L V6
    Auto transmission
    Power locks and Windows
    Cruise Control
    Factory E-locker
    Non smoker

Now $17,400! (roof top tent is not included)

Purchased this truck completely stock two years ago to build it into a truck I could explore the country. I spent quite a bit of time and money getting it to where it is now. The adventure plans for my wife and I have changed and we purchased a van for a long term trip. Unfortunately this means my beloved Tacoma has to go.

The truck has been carefully maintained by myself. It has only been in 4WD a handful of times since I have owned it and is in great condition mechanically.

    Synthetic oil every 5k miles.
Air filter every other oil change.
Grease fittings greased after oil change.
Timing belt, thermostat, water pump, radiator hoses, and accessory belts just replaced and coolant system flushed at 85k miles.
New CV's, new front and rear ECGS third members with 4.88 gears @ 82k miles with diff oil change.
Transmission flush, throttle body cleaned, new fuel filter, spark plugs, and complete Tundra front brakes @70k miles.

    List of other modifications;

    (4) 255/85r16 Cooper ST Maxx on factory TRD wheels. 3/4 life left.
OME lift w/ Nitrocharger Sport Shocks and 882 coils.
Rear OME Leafs with overload leaf
    All Pro upper A arms
All Pro U bolt flip with Timbren bump stops
Weld in 3 degree rear axle shims
Front diff spacer kit to improve CV angle
Dakota Digitial speedo recalibrator has speedometer within .5MPH
    Bud Built front skid plate
Tundra 13WL calipers and rotors with stainless braided lines
    ARB front bumper
    PIAA 520 driving lights
All Pro rear tube bumper with drop hitch
All Pro Bedrack with Hi-lift mount and custom water can holder (2x 3gal water cans and 48" Hi-Lift included)
Blue Sea Aux Fuse Box w/ Circuit breaker
Blue Sea Aux plug wired with 10 gauge wire to back seat for ARB fridge, etc
Uniden CB mounted in ash tray slot
    Kenwood front door speakers
RAAM mat and ensolite sound dampening installed in all four doors, back wall, and floor

    Known issues;

Rear seat and carpet has brown stain of unknown origin
Toyota recoated frame but the undercoating has flaked off in some places. It has been repainted with POR15 as needed.
Couple small scratches and dents on body.
Chip in windshield out of line of sight of driver. Has been repaired but still visible.
Overall very good shape for a 13 year old truck.

I would be willing to deliver the truck just about anywhere for a deposit plus expenses and a plane ticket home.

I am not interested in any trades. Not selling anything off the truck separately unless the buyer doesn't want the roof top tent.

Feel to ask questions or request more photos of any areas I haven't included. All pictures are current other than the few of the truck set up camping.

    Thanks for looking!

    Joe

    Thank you!

I am not a member of IH8MUD and figure I would come off shady if I join and immediately try to post a for sale add. It will have to be TacomaWorld and ExpeditionPortal for now. I absolutely dread some of the comments I would get from Craiglist.

No idea, they occurred before I bought the truck. The Toyota dealership I bought the truck from claimed to not know anything either. One is listed as "not damaged" and the other "minor/moderate". Have not noticed anything out of line or bent.

Buddy needed the roof top tent. Removed it as an option from the original post.

sweet truck man, on that rack you got from all pro, what height did you get? been looking into getting one but debating which one to go with with putting a tent on it, they have 3 different ones to choose from.

    Thanks!

Not sure of the height, I will try to measure it when I got home. At the time I ordered mine they would make it pretty much any size you wanted. I think mine is 18". I wanted it as low as possible to get the RTT out of the wind without blocking the rear view. As it is now I can barely see the very bottom of the bars looking in the rear view mirror.

Interested, can we see more of the frame pics than you posted on EP? Would you be willing to have the frame inspected at a toyota dealer? I ask as I just had my extra cab frame replaced and am interested in a double cab but really scared from all the frame rot these things have. My 2001 extra cab is clean as a pin but the frame rotted in one section near the leaf mount. I could barely tell until it was on a lift and I began poking around. It's perfect now with a new frame and a ton of other new parts but I don't want to go through that ordeal again! My '01 will be up for sale as well if you're interested in a partial trade?

I am out of town but can take some more pictures Sunday.

I am willing to try to get the frame inspected but it would depend on the time and money included to do so. I have had bad luck with both of my local Toyota dealerships (Riverside Toyota of Rome and Town Center Toyota in Kennesaw) and I am not very confident in them. When I tried to get a previous Tacoma inspected they advised me that my truck did not qualify for replacement due to it being a southern truck, outside the warranty (this was in 2009), and even if it did they would only replace the frame if I paid labor and nothing else (this Tacoma was a 99' that qualified for buy back). So any "inspection" they did would not really mean much to me.

I can get under there with a hammer and punch and try to make a detailed short video of the problem areas.

As for the trade I already have my creeper Van sorted out so as much as I would like to have/keep a Tacoma it is not practical. Thanks anyway though.

That'd be great. By problem areas do you mean common problem areas, paint flaking or any rot/ rust?

I meant more of the frame areas in front of the spring hangers. I haven't heard of horrible rust issues anywhere else.

Has the truck had any frame rust issues ever? You mentioned flaking coating but that might mean something different to each of us. Being that this was a Kentucky truck they should have no issue doing a frame inspection.
