Thanks devinzz1, the lights have a large range of movement both vertically and side to side.

As a side note we think we've found someone to work with on developing the first gen bracket so hopefully we will be bringing these over to this group soon! More news to come

If I didn't have a shell, this would be something I would be interested in.

I've done a mod or two
Seconded, I'd be down for a set if someone verified they fit. That or I'm still happy to try it on and report my findings in pics and measurements.

So some promising news from this weekend. We got some access to a first generation Tacoma. We were able to play around with the brake light but we're not able to remove the headliner to completely remove the brake light. The first generation mounting system is a little different then the 2nd Gen but the mounting holes line up.

Here is what we found out.
    • The mounting bolts from the brake light that go into the truck line up with the better bed lights mounting holes.
    • The brake light is the same size and shape as the 2nd gen so the bed lights will fit nice.
    • The clearances on the truck all look good so the adjustable features of the lights should all work fine.
    • It looks like it should work:humble:

Unfortunately we were not able to test mount the light. So this is where you guys come in. We are looking for a brave soul who is interested in owning a light to be our guinea pig.

    Here are some risks
    • The mounting bolt diameter on the brake light might be too large for the holes in the better bed light so they might need to be drilled out.
    • The mounting bolt length on the brake light might be too short so new mounting bolts might be needed.
We are looking for someone to test this out for us. You would still purchase the lights but for a much discounted price. If the bracket doesn't work out for you you can return it for a full refund.

If anyone has more questions feel free to ask.

PM if you are interested :fingerscrossed:
