Help with Choosing Speakers & Sub

Hey guys I'm really new to this and don't know what products to get. I have a budget of around $1000 and wanting to keep the stock deck. I want to change all 4 speakers and get a sub. If anyone can point me in right direction or show me a thread where I can get information on a sound system that sounds great!

 

Check "My Audio Build". I priced out my install and it came to $997. I realize you have to buy two more speakers than I did, however, if you learn from my mistakes (mentioned in the build page) you would save $100-ish which could get you the remaining two speakers. Keep in mind I did all the work which saved me a ton in labor costs.

 

I would recommend you contact Mr. Marv, he is very knowledgeable and should be able to set you up with a nice system. He has a couple threads going with his contact info. shown.

 

I had my factory head unit for a while but I ended up swapping it out. When I had the stock head unit I replaced all door speakers except the tweeters and I added 2 10" subs and amp along with an

$75 audiocontrol lc2i 2 channel line out converter with accubass and subwoofer control

audiocontrol lc2i line out converter. The line out converter is required when keeping the stock head unit.

Jbl GTO 938 6x9's in front doors $60 Amazon
Jbl GTO 628 6.5's in rear doors $50 Amazon
2 PPI black ice 10" subwoofers $125 local
500 watt Fosgate Punch amp $200 local
eBay prefabbed sub box. $60
AudioControl LC2i loc $90 Amazon

If you go that route you'll get an amazing sound. However those prefab boxes are only half ass glued and nailed together with tiny nails. I got wood screws and buttoned it up so it would rattle.

Also don't forget the speaker adapters for the door speakers as well as the wiring harness adapter which was another $20-$30

My old setup will keep you way under budget.
