Anybody have experience getting a car repainted?

My '07 Accord is having a paint issue. The paint on the roof, where it meets the rear window is flaking off, straight down to the metal. This is also happening on the pillar next to the rear window.

Any recommendations how to handle it? Would I need to get the whole car painted?

Are shops like Maaco a good idea?

Lots of money! I'd say macaco can be good if you knew the employees..but otherwise I'd be skeptical. My wife's 06 civic did same.. no recall per vin# so after hearing krazy prices on paint jobs I did this..

Thats purple colorchanging to blueish green Plasti dip by spray gun. It has lasted so well throughout whole summer then a maine winter and still looks great. Even if I peel and repaint every few years it's fun to do and much cheaper. The biggest thing about plastidip is using there topcoat laquer it makes it way more tough almost like an automotive finish.

Thanks for the suggestion, ChemDawg! I may take that route.

Gotta think about the long term though, we are gonna have this car for a while, and I hesitate doing a temporary fix.

    Maaco is decent.

Not a lifetime paint job but find a good location and you should be happy.

I guess my area was a bad one. I have seen maaco spray over rust bubbles and get big runs down the back of my friends car
But then again I think our local one closed.
Paint like that is hard to fix.
