I installed these lights on my truck. They are 921 leds, which should be a direct swap. However, sometimes they work fine and other times they flicker. Does anyone know if maybe these are too much wattage for the reverse lights?

Flickering is a known issue with crappy LEDs.

    Just saying................

Yeah, even the non-crappy ones do it too. I've had the Philips and the cree ones that were sold here and both sets did that bright and dim thing, not necessarily what I would call flickering. They are good when you put it in rev but then after a few seconds they dim out. Thought they were off but watched them in a window I backed up towards and they were still on just really dim....aka useless. Went back with silverstar halogen 921s I had laying around from another vehicle and no issue. Oddly enough, the Cree LEDs don't have the dimming issue in the wife's RAV4. Gonna put the Philips ones in my car and see how they do there. Had been thinking of getting new rev switch but since there is no issue with the halogen bulbs I am not. Just weird, I mean more "normal" stuff (as the dealership would say) Maybe we need error correcting LEDs? Just some phrase I've seen associated with LED bulbs

Yep, maybe it wants the crappy cheap Chinese fleabay ones....because I have not gotten what I paid for with the other 2 fancy sets. That stupid phrase applies a lot more to 2016 Tacomas than light bulbs in other gens. Let's hear that BS after you spend 40k on something that goes back and forth to the dealer for multiple problems within the first 5k miles. 3rd gen owners aren't getting what they paid for so that phrase is just weak BS anymore. It's just luck of the draw shit on anything regardless of price nowadays. My $17 3000 lumen LED bike lights from china are holding up great after several yrs, maybe I'll use those for rev lights.............

Oh, I don't have a 3rd gen but yeah, I'm sorry to be hearing about all the issues for them too.....I'll just hold the bike light out the slider, it'll light shit like daylight. Cars flash their brights at me riding at night with it, lol.
