Anyone have any experience lining up your shift lever with the shift rails while the trams is still in the truck?

I'm having a great time trying to do this by myself. Just wondering if anyone's done it.

Done it many times my friend .
All the shift rails need to be in the neutral position .
silicone the extension housing for the transfer case back on . When the shifter is removed from the top of the transmission , look down at the shift rails , they must all be in neutral in order to get your shifter back in
The FSM manual for your truck is at the bottom of this link but there is enough info hanging around the link to help you out . The R-155 is very similar .

Right on. Finally got er done yesterday. Definitely would have been easier with the whole tranny out of the truck. Thanks for the reply.
