We'll see how good my tax return is. I do need something strong and versatile. I work oilfield so the taco sees a lot of rough off roading. I just started to get a steady squeaking from the front passenger suspension now. I'm guessing it's a control arm bushing. Looks like I'll be getting new bushings and or ball joint. You guys have recommendations for aftermarket upgrades? Something that hopefully won't wear out from my thorough abuse.

Buy my Tacoma and I'll throw in the suspension for free. No need for aftermarket vendors. It's already built.

Pretty good at spending other peoples money Sterdog haha. No, but serious, it will be pretty hard to get a solid set up for under $2000 at Cochrane Toyota. I was dealing with them on a potential new buy with lots of upgrades until the sales department f'd everything up. The parts department is great, but sales...what a joke! Oh, and the owners son who runs that joint...also a complete joke!

Sales and parts are totally different departments there. Try it. Give them a call. They will be within a few hundred bucks, and maybe even cheaper, than a USA source. They will even explain how they came to their price if you talk to Kyle. I've bought my bumper, skid plates, and a few odds and ends there because after figuring out, with shipping, they are always within the ballpark of a USA source. Plus Kyle takes care of things if something shows up messed up where if you order it yourself it's all on you.

On the sales end they are always out to lunch. It's funny because Lethbridge Toyota is great on the sales end and terrible on the parts end. I guess you know where each is making their money.

In any case, T Dot is the last place I'd think about ordering from. There are plenty of local options that can get this right for him instead of ordering online to save $50 and finding out they didn't ship the right spring rate. That's happened to me. It sucks. Local stores will take care of you. Online places, in general, don't care or at least won't go any extra miles to fix your problem on their dime.

Also if we are being totally upfront let's be honest, OP isn't getting much more than just the front coilovers and nothing else it he has $2K CAD to spend. That's way too low for a full setup with rebuildable coilovers, UCA's, new leafs or progressive AAL, and good rear shocks included. For under $2K the OP can afford to have 5100's installed with blocks in the rear and stock over compressed coils up front. It will drive like shit and be a PITA offroad.

Then it all comes down to what OP wants. Does he want just the look and he'll deal with the loss of drive quality? Or does OP want to do this once and enjoy it for a very long time? His call.

A good middle ground would be the OME kits from any one of the ARB dealers in Calgary, there are several, but then he loses some of the rebuild aspects as well. OP's choice.

If you do your research and find out the exact part numbers of the parts you want 4wheel parts has very comparible and sometimes equal prices as US sources. It's easier to find out what works from other sources then just search the part number on the 4wheelparts website.
I've been cross shopping Fox 2.0, 6112 etc and have been impressed with their prices. And if you pick your parts up in Calgary or Edmonton you can inspect and make sure there right before heading home.

Make sure to measure. They drop ship almost everything and they aren't great with part numbers. While I agree they are a good local cheap source for parts they do seem to have trouble sometimes shipping suspension components. I know one local club members had to wait 3 times before the shipped him the right shock for his truck to the store. The first two times he took it home and had to drive back.

I try to only buy lights and other hard to mess up items from them.
