    Last time my family was on the Alcan highway (40 years ago) it was mostly gravel road. I hear tell that they've paved some/most of it. Have a safe trip and keep your eyes out for Moose and other big critters...

    Actually as lame as it sounds I got back and realized I hadn't taken a single picture lol. I'm sure my wife took some though. We were in some of the more tourist driven towns like Skagway, Ketchikan & Juneau. Would be awesome to see some of the other areas but it was a fun trip with the family.

    Don't even bother with the block heater. Rust is the biggest problem in Homer. Driving up in the summer isn't so bad, I'd make sure you have a good tow rope, shackles, recovery points, extra fluids, and a gas can (3-5 gallon).

    I will look into shackles, I do have extra fluids(oil/coolant/gear oil) and a gas can. I dont expect the truck to have much problems. It has about 15000 miles on it right now. Will be getting a rope tomorrow!
