I just got some scratches on the side of bed above the rear wheels. A few of them are deep enough to feel with my finger nail. My color is MGM. What should I try first to fix them?

If you can feel them with your fingernail, don't try to achieve 100% correction-- you might compromise the clear coat. That's the general rule of thumb.

You can use something like Mequires ScratchX to minimize the appearance of the scratch, but you'll prob not get very far without a machine. Ultimate Compound/Polish is an additional option to try to blend them a bit.

Depending on how big the scratches are, you can look into skmething like Dr. Colorchip. But that's more for chips than scratches I think.

You can use touch up paint on deep scratches, then wetsand to remove the excess. Use compound/polish to refine the result.

Well first, are you running larger wheels and tires?

If yes, just accept that this mod will cause paint damage, and unless you go back to stock size wheels/tires you will just continue to develop this damage.

If no, then you can try to polish out some of the scratches if you can get your hands on a machine, however sounds like they are deep enough where you won't be able to get them all out. If the scratches are just on the flares, you can look into just getting new flares for the rear. Not sure how much that will set you back.
