    Ugh thanks, that's disappointing about the Sequoia. I wonder why it's so much lower?

    How does that tow? Honestly we are thinking of an RPOD vs 28' Cougar and now I'm backpedaling on the big one because of how big and hard it is to tow.

    Any advice recommended!

    My 1st Gen is a V6 with the 5speed manual trans. It tows my 2500lb Casita fine. I've towed it from Texas, numerous trips to the Smokey mountains and up & down the east coast. I did upgrade my front brakes to the much larger 231mm tundra brakes, which helps in the mountains. But it handles the Casita and my camping gear surprisingly well.

    Is it built on the 4 runner frame instead of the tundra frame?
    My wife really wanted a sequoia and I was leaning that way myself.

    Pretty sure it's the Tundra frame... The rear suspension is different and I'd bet the Sequioa weighs more.

    Doesn't the Sequoia have the neutral leveling air suspension in the back? That would probably be the reason.

    Our 2005 4runner is rated at 7300 lbs.

    No idea what the sequoia setup suspension for the rear is. All I know, I saw one for sale the other day $58k sha right. That's impressive for your 4runner.

    @MarX

    My wife and I are moving to Texas from Oregon and are looking at getting a R-pod. It's roughly a 2,500 mile trip and we want to drive and camp the whole way. Do you have any recommendations for pulling the r-pod that far? Or concerns? Does the R-pod sway quite a bit? I have a 6sp manual, what speed do you cruise at when your hooked up?

    Thanks!

    Bought this one back in 2009. Originally pulled it with a 2004 Land Rover HSE. Got tired of $$$ repair bills & bought a 2017 RAM 1500 as a replacement. The taco gets to come along to haul extra gear & play.

    Nice Airstream. The wife talked me into the 27FB, so that required a Tundra to pull it. Lots of new gear but worth it to take the whole family out and have room to spare.
