Either your primary or an ENT (Ear, nose, and throat). Specialists cost more, and are usually harder to get into, so it's completely up to you. Could be something simple your GP/Internist can deal with or could be require a specialist. No way for EMTs/Medics to know or even a doctor without doing an actual exam.

I was thinking ENT, not really happy with my GP. I have some Amoxicillin at home, think this my help?

Not even going to go there. Only take medicine for what and how it was prescribed.

Your insurance may also have a 24 hr nurses line you can call. They maybe in better position to help you find a need doctor or suggest if you need an ENT.

Just ordered a pair of Haix Airpower XR1 boots. I hope the last and feel as comfortable as all the reviews.

Just wanted to get y'all opinions on this, cut on my arm with a pocket knife, minimal bleeding but my arm is tingling and it feels like I may have cut part of a muscle.

About to head to the clinic to make sure it's not too serious.

Probably a decent idea. Might be time for a tetanus booster as well.

I kinda had an interesting thing with my left ear that prolonged for more than 10 days. It felt like there was pressure in it or like water, I could hear out of it but it didn't sound the same as my right ear.
Dr. said it was fluid and swelled from like allergies (idk I wasn't paying attention) and gave me steroids to take for 5 days. It didn't really help and last week I was driving with the windows down on the highway and on my left I heard 2 really loud pops like I was being shot at. I checked my truck and looked around and checked myself to make sure I didn't get shot but ever since then my left ear has reverted to normal. Lmao.

Apologies if this has been answered in the previous 75 pages but I have a question about how the medics would put together an offroad first aid kit. Some of us wheel, camp, fish, and hunt in remote locations where it can take quite awhile to reach a spot where we can call for medical help and then take even longer for professional medical help to arrive. Over the decades I have seen everything from bad cuts, broken bones, and burns to a punctured lung after being thrown from a horse. Thankfully the punctured lung happened near a trail head and things turned out well. I have never seen a gunshot wound but with all the city yahoos out in the woods its possible that could happen someday. It happened to a friend of a friend many years ago when he was shot through the hand from across a canyon.

What do you recommend in a properly stocked kit for the average guy with some industrial first aid training? And what more advanced "last resort" items would you recommend adding after getting a bit of specific training? Examples of more advanced items might include things like an Israeli bandage, combat tourniquet, or halo chest seal.

4 stitches and a tetanus shot and I'm on my way.
Got a Dr. note to take tomorrow off and light duty next week to make sure I don't pull the stitches out.

What I find most ironic (and funny) about this little piece of excitement is the knife that cut me.
It was part of a 3 piece set (Fire, Leo, and paramedic) and this is the only one I haven't given away (because I don't know any of the local EMT's).

I've got one similar to that I got for Christmas from a supervisor one year. That has got to be the sharpest damn knife I've ever had. I've had at least 6-7 people say the same thing when borrowing it.

A small bag with assorted bandages and some rolls of tape. Band aids and other general stuff. Unless you are medically trained to use an Israeli bandage and tourniquets I would advise staying away from them.

I don't keep mine sharpened but it was sharp for several months after I got it, and I use it for everything.
