That's good to know. If it's simple to do it's probably worth carrying as a backup.

Well anyways this is one of those great TW threads that got me to buy something I actually really needed but I hadn't looked into. Thanks folks. @OZ-T always seems to have figured out how all the odds and ends should be taken care of. I'm just happy I won't have to deal with my plastic 20 L Walmart special gas can anymore!

for mowers, generators, etc, I really like these, and won't use anything else.

    https://www.amazon.com/No-Spill-1450-5-Gallon-Poly-Compliant/dp/B000W9JN4S

I have a 1 gallon for the 2-smoker Stihl stuff, and a 5 gallon or two for everything else up to and including my 1947 ford tractor

*BUT*, they are useless for cars with modern fill restrictions. I've had to use a funnel the few times I've had to put gas in a car.

the way these cans work, you hold the handle thats on the 'back' side of the can, so the nozzle is pointing down, then just push the button to start the gas, release to stop with hardly a drip. those wings on the nozzle let you push it like a hypodermic (two fingers on the wings, thumb on the button, squeeze, and go...)

noname chinese jerry cans like H-F sells have a tendancy to leak.

anyways, trying to fill the 1 pint or 1 quart fuel tank of a small motor from a metal jerry can is a pain

Weird. Still doesnt show me as being logged in. Honesty, don't know who's acct y'all are seeing. I don't remember ever making an acct with them, and tried to recover the password but they don't recognize any email I've used.
I have this on my generator fuel can. Seems to work well.

Yes quite strange, when I first clicked the link to DS TAC I could see someone's personal info with full access to name, CC info, address, phone number and so on. Logging out from that page resolved this.

I have this 2 gallon one from amazon with an enviro-flo "valve", and it works well (read: does not leak, even when it heats up and the gas expands - unlike others I've had). Sometimes I wish I had a metal one, but I've been pretty happy with this in the meantime.

I've had several just like that 'enviroflow' one break, those valves are junk.

Seriously, my local Home Depot in Fredericton, NB had the real MFCs (red), two pallets of them, as a one time special deal, on the floor, still on the pallets, with sale tags on them. I have no idea where they got them, but I have not seen them there since. I knew it was a great deal, which is why I bought 4 of them. In hindsight, I should have bought the whole lot and sat on them. Picture to follow when I get home from work.
