Back in February I decided to go with a 2.0 Tonneau for my 2015 DCSB Tacoma. Driving factors were apparent durability and ease of removal. Installation was simple though another 1/2" in length would actually cover the bed.

Well the rains finally came to Nor Cal and this thing with a sieve. I understand the issues between the perimeter rubber and the insert rails...but panel to panel joints leaked...

Summer is here and the temps are up......80's, 90's and an occasional 100... Now the top if the cover has developed divots. Looks to me like the material has melted/sagged in all 4 corners. Under each of these divots is a recess where the mounting hardware attaches......an opening without insulation. Check out the pics and tell me what you think. This isn't a result of over tightening as the grab points are a distance away.

Have any other Extang owners experienced this?

Yes! Will write more later. Extang has caused me much grief and been very difficult to deal with.
My 2.0 is brand new and never been installed.. It was replacement for the non-2.0. I actually wish I had never given up my "1.0" because the materials were much stronger. Currently doing some sun testing and results are showing panel buckling and separation after only 3 days!

Mines doing this also. Only where it attaches closet to the cab. Seems kinda inevitable that it will do it. It's just foam. Have you contacted Extang?

Yes. No response. Buckling continues. I will be contacting again but based on what I am reading I don't expect them to give me a full refund. They probably would just replace it with another piece of junk. I am considering alternate options.

...A follow up to my original post regarding the Extang 2.0 melting issue.....I purchased the cover online from AutoAccessoriesGarage.com.
When I contacted them regarding the divots, their customer service immediately replied asking for pictures. I supplied the pictures which they forwarded to the manufacturer. Within 2 weeks I had replacement panels for both the cab-end and the tailgate-end. Replacement was super simple.
    ..that's the good news...

..The bad news...The replacement panels appear no different from the originals. I expect them to deform similarly. The combination off external heat, lack of
insulation on the bottom side of the cover in that area, and ambient heat trapped beneath the cover in the bed.... all contribute to the melting. The material just
    isn't up to the temps.

Here are two pics of the cab-end panel...top & bottom. You can clearly see the divots in the top view, and the recesses beneath them in the bottom view.
These recesses need to be insulated......

I know this won't help yout issue, but my brother and I just ordered the backflip G2 tonneau cover for our Tacomas ( his is a TRD sport dblcab and mine is an SR5 dblcab ).
I was told by the parts guy at our dealership not to get the Toyota tonneau cover because it "sucks". He told me to get the backflip G2.
Ordered it straight from backflip and they cut the price by $75 with free shipping. Installed it ourselves in about 45 minutes. Been though rain, and 2 car washes with no leaking or flaws.

...seems warm weather and the Extang Solidfold 2.0 just don't mix. After replacing both the cab end panel...and the tailgate end panel due to melting issues
....I dropped my Tacoma tailgate today and found the tailgate panel weatherstripping laying in the bed. It appears the double-stick tape Extang sourced isn't up to the job........
I give.....time for a refund and moving on...

My Extang 2.0 adventure is coming to an end. AutoAccessoriesGarage.com in conjunction with the factory has issued me a credit towards another cover.
The new replacement panels Extang sent me were starting to show deformation in the same areas. Props to AutoAccessoriesGarage.com for working with me through this all.
Their customer service is second to none. The cover has been returned to Extang and I've decided to go with a Bakflip MX4. Hopefully the aluminum panel skins will be more heat tolerant.

My solid fold 2.0 (replacement for my leaking regular solid fold) has developed divots as well. Also some buckling near one of the edges. I discussed with my local Toyota dealership & they have reported many complaints to Extang & have been getting replacements. Extang has reported bad epoxy batches which I think is not the root cause. The root cause is poor material selection in general & low temperature ratings. Also, the "Solid" in their product name is completely false because it is just foam and won't hold up any appreciable weight! They are reviewing my case currently & I have specifically asked that they not send me another 2.0! I would want, at minimum, they give me my "solid" leaky cover back so I can silicone the mess out of it or replace with a non-extang cover so I can sell it as I have already sprung for a shell.

It'll be interesting to see how long your replacement takes to get to you. I order one last week, then found out that production has been stopped for another two to three weeks while they make some changes/upgrades.

I actually ordered mine through auto anything last Friday. They said it would ship that day. Got an email on Tuesday saying it wouldn't ship until 10/5. I canceled it. Now I'm reevaluating what to do for a tonneau.
