Can anybody recommend a good shop in the Denver area? I'm in Wheat Ridge so something in NW Denver would be ideal, although I'm more concerned with high quality work. I see some terrible tint jobs around town that just don't look good. I don't Any to end up with one of those. Any recommendations you can give would be much appreciated!

I am the manager at Extreme auto works in Lakewood. We do high quality work and have both dyed and ceramic films that block heat and uv. Our customers always come back for more. I will hook you up since your a fellow taco owner. Let me know if you have any questions...Cody

Thanks Cody, I'll give you a shout next week. I was going to go with Colorado Car tinting because it's literally around the corner, but you're probably not too far away either.

What's the difference between dyed and ceramic films? I really just want to avoid the tinting that has that purplish hue after awhile.. it just looks like shit. All I want is to match the front windows to the backs

Shit, while I'm at, can anyone recommend a topper shop that they've had good luck with?

I'm looking at the Leer 100XR. I think this guy's truck looks pretty sweet!

oldschoolczar - We are off Colfax/Kipling, will only take about an hour to get your 2 fronts done.
I will explain the different films in detail when you come in. For now I will give you a general explanation.
The films that turn purple/bubble are unstable color dyes, cheap film and not meant to last.
We do not use those at all.
Our entry level films are a color stable dye, meaning they will fade a little over the years, but they will not turn a different color, just a lighter shade of black.
The Tacoma comes with smoked glass on the rear/back from the factory. This is not a film or tint, the smoked color is built into the glass and does have some heat rejection built in.
A dyed film will never give you the same clarity as your smoked glass does, basically because you are looking through a dye. When you get away from dyes and get into carbon and ceramic films, there are no dyes so you will get the same clarity you get with the factory glass. The added benefit of ceramic and carbon films is that they also block heat and UV rays, so they will protect your interior and keep your car cooler.
I hope that helps explain the differences in film. I will show you a heat demonstration when you come in and it will make more sense. You can also take a look at the ceramic film on my Tacoma to see how it looks installed.
Let me know if you have any questions or would like to set up a day to come in. FYI we are open Tues-Sat 9-6, closed Sun-Mon.
BTW, I do like that topper a lot. My friend has had good luck at A&A Toppers. They are on west Colfax just a little east of Wadsworth, although I am not sure which brands they carry.

Thanks man, I just checked out a blow-up of your avatar and that's exactly what I'm after. Your glass looks really nice. Definitely would be going for the ceramic/carbon as my main concern is quality. I'm just picking up my truck out-of-state on Saturday, but I'll probably get in touch by next weekend.

Cody - does close at 6pm mean tools down at 6pm? Reason I ask, is your hours would be difficult for me to meet, and I would likely be showing up after 5 pm. I would like to come by and have my fronts done with ceramic or carbon. I am similar to Jordan re: quality.

Hi barcelona...don't worry about our hours, I will get you taken care of. Just let me know what day works for you so I can make sure we aren't in the middle of a wrap or something. It will take about an hour to get your 2 fronts installed .

@5280mx solid after hours customer service going on here. I will definitely keep you guys in mind if I ever need my tint redone, or rears done a little darker. I had mine done at Groove Ford because my GF works there, and unfortunately their tint guy does not care about quality or redoing mistakes. It is not horrible but there are a couple of imperfections that sometimes bother me. Hats off to you sir!
