Dealer just took care of mine, they subbed it out to a body shop.
First they told me others were the same way so it is operating as designed.
Then they tried telling me those are not adhesive spots, they are bumpers,to limit the hood skin travel.
Now if they fix the drive vibration, I'll keep it.

Hey guys, just out of curiosity I opened the hood of my TWO day old 2016 TRD OR today, and the seams are separated already! :annoyed:Build date was 6/18/2016 in MX.

Toyota is pathetic. They had how many months to address it?

With this separation problem, is there any ticking sound or rattle sound associated with the hood? I haven't checked yet, but I have been having ticking sound or rattle sound and was told it is my fuel injectors. Thanks in advance.

That is covered in the owners manual and without hearing it how can we tell you that. However someone else has already pointed it out to you and that is the case, it's the self cleaning injectors.

    Hi!

I realized today that my truck is one more on the list of glue failure on the hood..

I went to the dealer and they told me that was exactly was it meant to be... That the hood needs to move and other bullshit... I am going to call Toyota corporate to make a complain (I already have a case open for this issue)

I like to solve stuff on my own "if I can", have any of you fixed this by yourselves? Which type of caulk do I need to buy?

    Thanks!!

During my 5k service, i told the ASM about the hood and even pointed it out to him. I went to pick up the truck and he told me that after further inspection, they didn't see Anything wrong with it. Even had their manager look under the hood. TSB has that issue for 2nd

There is a "special kit" available now, that Toyota made for this issue. They had to order for me. Dropped off my truck today, tomorrow it's going to the shop. I was told that it should be done by the end of tomorrow.

Took mine to big 2 toyota. Repaired under warranty with no questions asked. They did a great job, obvious the tech that did it takes pride in their work!

Here is mine, they did a good job. Wasn't to easy to get this done. they tried to say that it's normal, but find out that there is a special kit that is made by Toyota to repair this. All done, looks like it's not vibrating like it was.

One dealer tried to tell me normal wear and tear at 2500 miles. I don't think I'm allowed on the property there anymore....

Good news. On my visit to modesto toyota, which was 113 miles away from my home in sanger, i had a due bill on my truck for a spare key. And i mentioned to have the hood inspected. After the spare key was done, the tech looked under the hood. We both pointed at the same area where there was little to no adhesive on the rib. He took pictures and decided to have an open case with toyota on it.
They did more to help me out for having to drive a longer distance than my closest dealer which is 15 miles away. Smh

    Update***

So my truck will be taken to a body shop somewhere in modesto and have the defected hood either replaced or glued. I was hoping clovis could have done better to help me out. Maybe with tsb 0077-16 they can have it checked.
