    What's going on!!

Names Chris, I live in the panhandle of Florida. I just purchased my first vehicle on my own at 19 yrs old, damn good accomplishment if you ask me. Not only am I new to the brand Toyota but also the truck game. I come from a lowered 2001 Audi TT Quattro pushing 16 pounds of boost with about 265hp. I finally was able to get a new vehicle with no co-signer and I looked into Toyota. Found out that they are a damn good brand and I purchased one within a few days. I'm looking to throw some mods on it within the next month. I NEED FEEDBACK PLEASE!!! I have a good deal on a 4inch and 6inch rough country lift with 33's x 12.50 nittos. I'll be running 20x10 wheels...

What size lift should I go with?
What type of MPG would I get if I went with a 4 inch lift VS. 6 inch lift?

One last thing, Toyota said anything over a 3inch lift voids the warranty. I've been told it's illegal for the car company to void their warranty because they said you can't go over a 3inch lift. Someone said its due to the "Magnuson- moss warranty act" why it's illegal for the car company to say such.

Please can I get some feedback?!
    Thank you! -Chris

I can't give a lot of advice on your lift questions, as mine is still stock height. As for the MPG question, I went with 265/70/17 BFG KO2's and lost about 2 MPG over what I was getting with the factory Goodyears at 265/70/16. I was getting 22, 23 and sometimes even 24 MPG before and now I'm getting 19 - 20 MPG. I'm still satisfied because I love the new tires. Afterall, its a truck, not a Prius. On the other hand, the tire you mentioned is something like 2 inches wider and an inch taller than mine, which will make them even heaver, with a wider contact patch, which will mean more rolling resistance. I would expect that you will take a pretty significant hit in fuel economy with those tires ... not to mention performance will be sluggish, to say the least, unless you are planning to re-gear.

As for the warranty questions you brought up ... we had a conversation a while back and, basically, Magnuson-Moss is useless unless you have the funds and are willing to fight it out with Toyota in court. The consensus is that warranty work is basically up to each dealer's service department. Some are better than others, when it comes to dealing with warranty work with when your vehicle has aftermarket mods. Here is the link if you want to read it:
