Ah damn I shipped it back. But did yours look like the one on the picture I posted?

 

The picture is small, but I think the answer is yes. Mine has an additional bend or two in it, which is why I was also skeptical. As I said, however, it worked as advertised, albeit with a little tighter reverse than I'd prefer.

This discussion inspired me to do more reading... It looks like PTR04-35070 is "compatible" with our trucks, but

PTR04-35052 is "designed for" them. I just sent the vendor a question about this. We'll see what he says.

So the eBay seller says he has corrected the part number to the correct one. @Norton can you post the correct part number as he said he is sending you our the correct one. First post updated with the correct part number.

 

He responded to my message earlier today, confirming that

PTR04-35052 is the shifter "designed for" our trucks. It looks like anyone buying now is in good shape. I'm cautiously optimistic he'll sort this out for those of us who purchased previously.

 

Received a call from the dealership this morning, confirming plan to send me a return address label for the incorrect (PTR04-35070) shifter and ship me the correct (

$341 PTR04-35052 TRD Quickshifter

PTR04-35052) one.

Received FedEx return label and tracking number for replacement when I got home this afternoon.

So far, I'm pleased with the vendor's recovery on this. Will post updates as they become available.

PTR04-35052) quickshifter arrived this evening. Install was a breeze the second time around, not to mention the fact that it fits better than the incorrect (PTR04-35070) one. It's also much easier to shift into reverse. PTR04-35070 is packaged, with the vendor-provided FedEx label attached, and will be on its way back tomorrow.

FWIW, I'm very impressed with how the vendor handled this situation. No questions. No quibbling. Cross-shipment of the replacement shifter with no request for payment or credit card info. Bottom line: Mistakes happen. Customer service is frequently about recovery from them. This vendor gets an A+ in my book!
