    How she sits today-

So a little back story, I bought a 2011 TRD Offroad Prerunner back in 2010 when I lived in San Diego, had a pretty nice MT build on it, but also realized I wanted LT and some more power, so I had a thought in my head for what I actually wanted. I also realized I liked the fast desert stuff, but also got stuck enough to realize I wanted 4x4 for a little more technical trails...and...you know...being able to go up hills and stuff.
So here was Volcom Tacoma 1.0.
2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road Prerunner 5 speed automatic
    IMG_5875.jpg Final build was
    Front-
    Maxtrax Spindles
    Total Chaos UCAs
Fox 2.0 Shocks with compression adjusters and Remote Resis
    Superbumps
    Spidertrax 1.25 Spacers

    Rear-
    All Pro Expo Leafs
    BAMF Shock relocation
12" Fox 2.0 with R/R and compression adjusters

Pelfreybilt Hybrid bumper w/ chinese lights

Ended up trading her in for my 4x4 when I swooped up on some parts that ended up sitting in the garage for a good 2 years or so

    20150725_181919.jpg
So I had a camper shell from the old truck, swapped it over at the dealer, got a nice detail on it care of @LTDSC and installed a few things
    20150726_072308.jpg
Had a mod day at the house and installed my Hurst Core Shifter w/ Hurst T handle

    20150801_133940.jpg

Got about 300 miles on it or so, decided it wasn't fast enough, so this happened...

    20150802_103832.jpg

    20150802_152312.jpg

    20150802_185841.jpg

    20150803_154459.jpg

Installed it in about 16 hours from start to finish with the help from my neighbor. Last pic is after I got back from the dealer for the reflash (everyone wanted over 1k for install, so I decided to learn some shit). Immediately installed the AFE Stage II Si CAI, URD Mark III 3" exhaust, URD Y Pipe, and URD 2.85 Stealth pulley.

So before going offroad I decided I needed some better tires, so the local used tire place gave me these on the cheap-
    20150817_193634.jpg
    20150817_193617.jpg
Procomp Mud terrains in the back, basically new, and Procomp All Terrains about 60% left up front.

So then we went to Hollister Hills OHV-

You can see @DannyBFresco next to me, chillin.

    20150823_142954.jpg
    20150823_151035.jpg
So this prompted some kickass sliders from Bay Area Metal Fab, personally installed by Mr. @JLee himself-
    20151120_105040.jpg
    20151120_110641.jpg
I had to wait a few minutes so the welds could dry, or at least that's what Jerry told me before I could bounce on them

So then I just slowly bought parts a little bit at a time until I had them all and started setting some install dates...so I had these installed a little bit before the big day-

    295/75/16 Toyo AT2's

So we took off for Hollister again and that Supercharger put in work-

    .jpg

Then I just waited for some money to happen...and then headed down to San Diego to drop off my baby with @jeffz0rz for some shenanigans.

Had to do some teardown before driving down.

    20160411_195304.jpg
    20160412_200647.jpg
Stopped off at @DMZ Fab and Prep for some Fiberglass
    20160414_121101.jpg
And then dropped it off at Jeff's house!

Here's some random shots from Jeff-

Came down back in June 2016 to pick the truck up and helped out a little on some finishing touches-

    20160603_125559.jpg 20160603_192849.jpg

So then we got done and I headed back up north and stopped off in Pismo Beach with @DannyBFresco for some more shenanigans

    20160605_115439.jpg

    Mmmmm there she is.

Had to do a little beachside mechanic stuffs, NBD.

    20160605_140843.jpg

Then it was time for fun times and testing out some LT

Setting up camp, Danny with his Expo AF RTT

Finally got home and got in some paint action and some more little mods here and there-

    20160610_105205.jpg
    Finished the skid at work-
    20160616_211427.jpg
    Got some light action going-

    20160622_185112.jpg
So then I needed power for everything, so @Iggy. helped me out with this action-

    20160714_105710.jpg 20160714_105854.jpg

And that's about it! I installed my Tepui Ayer today and can't wait to test it out, Pismo is happening next weekend, so that will be fun. Ciao!

How do your bedsides hold up to the weight of your RTT and people? I always thought that the glass bedsides would be too weak to support a RTT with people. I was thinking of making a tube frame to attach to my shock towers and then to the actual bed.

My truck is like the brother to yours!

We'll find out! Heading to Pismo this weekend for some fun! Also, because of how much lower the bedsides sit than the fender caps, the All Pro Bed bars actually sat almost an inch above the fiberglass, so I folded up and epoxy'd a bunch of rubber matting under each one for support, so really we'll see how strong the bed rails are. At some point I'm gonna add some supports attached to the frame underneath the fiberglass as well as make a different set of bed bars that sit lower.

Yea, let me know how it works out. I am designing a bed rack that will have some custom canvas covers for the sides (dust/ water/ snow). I wheel too much for a fiberglass shell and I dont want a RTT sky high above the cab!

Sounds good! Agreed, right now the RTT pokes up a hair over the cab and I want it to be as tucked down as possible.

Shit signal out here but Ill upload some pics and video when I get home.

So far the bars and glass has held uo just fine! No cracking in the glass or bed so far! Top speed so far was 75 through fence line, and I was starting to cross my comfort level line at that lol

Nice! I watched the view of the RTT brackets three times. It seems not to flex the glass too much. I will still probably go down the route of attaching my RTT rails into my bed cage. I don't want to risk potentially cracking a bedside (Shipping for a new one would be crazy to Utah). For the end of the bed I will have to build some small stanchions that bolt into the bed/ Side metal Bed supports. Here is the direction I am going.. with it integrated into a tire-carrier that I recently designed.

Yeah but see how much vibration is in the video based off the rack on the back of the bed? I think I'm gonna pull the tent off for now until I can build or get someone to build me one that will have the tent sit almost flush with bedside tops. And actually one of the bed bars twisted slightly, the inner rail piece must have slipped in the rail, and it caused the tent to shift about 1/2" or so. I could probably just tighten everything down like crazy, but I'd rather just pull it off and get something done right for it. If @DannyBFresco is ever allowed to go offroad again I can throw it back on for camping

Your design is close to what I have in my head, except I was just gonna use some flat stock connecting to the bed bolts under the tent and basically just have a box around the spare that I can bolt in and out at my leisure. Having it low enough that its almost flush with the bed sides makes it harder for someone to get in there and try to unbolt the tent

One of the many design phases of my truck (and yours). I hope to one day get a early 90's pickup just for when I need to haul stuff. I could then leave the taco primed for exploring and won't have to worry about removing the tent.

Yea, Having the tent as low as possible is my goal. The top of the tent mock is basically ~1" taller than the cab. I need it tall enough so I can still fit my 15lb Power Tank under it (Where it currently sits). I suppose I could mount my Power Tank on my tire carrier but I am not sure how easy a target I will be for the local Highway Patrol here in Utah. In California you technically need some type of Compressed Gas Packard on like 3 sides of the vehicle if you have any compressed cylinder (not sure about fire extinguishers). When I lived in Cali, I was never pulled over for it, but it has been tucked into the bed so its not really noticeable when it is surrounded by camping gear lol..

When the Tent rack is built I also want to talk to the local Tarp shop here in Salt Lake and see if they could make me some Canvass sides that I could Roll/ Zip up. This would at least help keep all the Red Dirt off of everything!

I like it! I still need to pick up a tube notcher and bender and then I might just try my hand at a rack
